West Virginia pushed Texas to 4 in one of the matches last season, Texas swept the other one. looking forward to seeing what Sunahara and WV bring to Austin this time.

Based solely on the eye test, WVU is better than last year, and keeps getting better. I’ve considered this road trip a trap since they shocked us with a loss a few years ago, and so I’m glad this series is at home. I hope Texas is rested and not underestimating this team.

West Virginia is better. They remind me of Maryland, really good record but hasn’t played anyone (except for the Penn St game). Top 50 aces per set, 21st in blocks per set, 46th in hitting percentage. If Texas is in Rice form they sweep, if they are in Notre Dame, Arizona form it goes 4 or 5 sets.

WVU is a fortunate benefactor of 5th year seniors this season. Their success last year and this year will give a nice boost in recruiting which is already seeing improvements.

Double checked and I miss-remember. They pushed iua to 5 sets in 2017 and once again before that.

I am surprised that Sunahara has lasted long enough to turn around WVU. Since taking over for Jill Kramer, his record has been: 2021-22 .923 2020-21 .476 2019-20 .414 2018-19 .367 2017-18 .618 2016-17 .400 2015-16 .172
I thought the constant influx and outflow of transfers was a bad sign.
Impressive to beat Michigan...but that's about it for this year.

Parra and Eggleston have been going back and forth to lead the team in aces and both are top 10 nationally (last I checked). Looking forward to seeing which one has the lead after this series:)
