Credit to Piacenza down 1-4 and 4-8 in the 5th.
One wonders of the play schedule toll is adding up on Trentino with a 5 setter against Perugia and this one and a match this coming week against Perugia in the CEV and this deciding match on the weekend. Luckily they are home for both but damn if Russell can lift again like this things are getting interesting.

I was thinking the same thing. Trentino had to dig deep to pull out a 5 set win against Perugia. Then collapsed in 5 sets this weekend. If I am Matt Anderson, I am liking my chances for the mid-week match against Trento. If I am Max Holt, I am liking my chances to steal a win next weekend knowing my opponent has a difficult opponent in the middle of the week. the good news for Trentino is that both matches will be at home.

I know Russell led in points scored, but I thought Recine was also quite good in reception and offensively.

I know Russell led in points scored, but I thought Recine was also quite good in reception and offensively. definitely made some very clutch plays in the fifth, namely blocking Sbertoli when he tried to attack on two. I feel like Piacenza’s OHs saved the day. |
