I'm not as mad as I thought I'd be at this loss. I mean, the Ohio State is certainly a Sweet Sixteen, Elite Eight team-in-the-making. We out-blocked them by a good margin and held Londot to a negative hitting percentage.
There were some positives:
* Newton carried her weight and then some all match. Finished with a double-double (16 kills, 11 digs).
* 19 teams blocks. Is that a new high? At least during the Cleveland era?
* Cleveland had a double-double (11 kills, 10 blocks)
* Schermerhorn wasn't a bad replacement for Hornung. Passed well. Her serve was sickening. Definitely played really good middle back defense.
* Colvin's offense is going to be something fierce by season's end.
* Otec was EVERYWHERE. She really stepped up to keep Purdue in it all match.
Just need Trammel to do something other than block; Cleveland can't keep waiting 3 sets before she becomes aggressive; PLEASE FIX THIS L1 POSITION!
Now I really want to see Ohio State vs. Wisconsin!

Amen on the PLEASE FIX THE L1 POSITION 🤯 personally I believe Chinn is the best all around of the 3 and she didn’t play tonight 😳 although it’s really up to one of the 3 to outplay the other two at practice - apparently no one can do it (so someone needs to separate themselves) 🤞 |

Oh man was that a cathartic win after the 5 set heartbreak in West Lafayette. Both these teams are legit.  Love the bananas 💛🍌🍌🍌 although slightly less when the victim is the Boilers 💛🚂🏐 B1G is so difficult - conference champ will have 4 losses? 😳 Must beat PSU in Holloway 🤞 Maybe not. I am hoping that team that has a favorable first half and happily got a huge weapon back, because I hate injuries, has a rougher second half! |

Oh, and if the results most of us are hoping for in the second match of the weekend happen, just flip the teams in the rankings, AVCA! Seems fair!

Click "Today's Events". Once that loads, you can search by either school (the home team or visitors). For this instance, click on "P" then scroll to Purdue and it'll list the games available for the day by sport. If you need any info from the stats until the boxscore is posted, let me know! |

Great win by the Bucks tonight. Decent attendance, a little over 2K, I would guess. I never felt comfortable even being up 2-nil. Neither team hit great tonight. Lots of blocks. Grunze is becoming my favorite player for this year.She can really put the heat on that sharp cross court. She is heady. The Purdue bench was agitated with her lingering heavy tips. I feel that we are set in the middle for the next few years, Davis has improved so much from the Washington match. Just playing with Rader with her Kiva smarts will help her improve. I can,t remember the last attack error Rylee had. It’s exciting to see the team back in the mix of top tier of the league. Reminds me of the Jim Stone era.

I hope we get COVID-19 to endemic levels by next fall, for all reasons. That said, I think the Buckeyes will be a team that is packing people into their new arena to overstuffed if that is the case, because they will be fun to watch for their fans now and going forward.
