I think tv said Johnson is sick (non covid), not sure about Mo, could also be sick but i don't remember.

Johnson is injured. No word on what it is.

Hornung was a game-time-decision to not play. She left the Iowa game in the 3rd set after playing libero the first 2 sets. Someone said it was illness. Hopefully she'll be back today.

I think Schermerhorn did a respectable job replacing her as did Ali Hornung taking on that DS position for Cleveland.

Colvin will be great and was pretty solid against tOSU but Johnson brings a lot as an experienced blocker, server, and defender.

I'm not as mad as I thought I'd be at this loss. I mean, the Ohio State is certainly a Sweet Sixteen, Elite Eight team-in-the-making. We out-blocked them by a good margin and held Londot to a negative hitting percentage.

There were some positives:

* Newton carried her weight and then some all match. Finished with a double-double (16 kills, 11 digs).
* 19 teams blocks. Is that a new high? At least during the Cleveland era?
* Cleveland had a double-double (11 kills, 10 blocks)
* Schermerhorn wasn't a bad replacement for Hornung. Passed well. Her serve was sickening. Definitely played really good middle back defense.
* Colvin's offense is going to be something fierce by season's end.

Just need Trammel to do something other than block; Cleveland can't keep waiting 3 sets before she becomes aggressive; PLEASE FIX THIS L1 POSITION!

Now I really want to see Ohio State vs. Wisconsin!

The biggest thing I see is the fix the L1 position. Unfortunately I do not believe a fix exists on this roster. We are screwed next year on the pins if Cleveland decides to leave.

I am wondering if Chinn is not doing as well in practice. I have no idea, but it seems like he is wanting them to battle in practice... but practice is PRACTICE, when players should br learning, trying different things, growing (which means mistakes, adjusting technique). Maybe they need to think about who is best in actual competition. It seems clear to me that Chinn is the best all around outside hitter. Dude. Put her in and keep her there. You can't do this for 4 years. It's ridiculous.
