This hurts to say but hoping the Illini win (I feel dirty for saying that). They have all the players to do it but they are so inconsistent and have so many inexplicable breakdowns. Don't know if they can put together a solid 3 sets against a good opponent in one setting but just maybe tomorrow will be that night. Nah!

Anyone want two free tickets for the Illinois match? Will be out of town, so DM me, and I can electronically transfer them. First come, first serve! You should offer them to Madden. We may need the curse. Absolutely. Not a particularly superstitious person, but ALWAYS looking for a competitive advantage.

You have GOT to stop. This is cause for concern at this point. Do you think Lexi Sun plays?

So my crystal ball says..... maybe.

Illinois is so scrappy and if they play cleanly (which they have played cleanly in individual sets, but not a match), they can be very good. They have some pretty hard hitting attackers so the Husker defense will have to play like they have been.

Love to see Illinois have a good season for Coach Tamas, but hopefully not against Nebraska.

Homecoming for Kyla Swanson. Can't help but think IL will be up for this game. Huskers will need to be sharp.

Don't know if they can put together a solid 3 sets against a good opponent in one setting but just maybe tomorrow will be that night. I disagree that âthey have all the players to do it. . . â. I think if you compare the Illinois roster to any of the top 7 B1G teams, they arenât as good. Collins and Terry are their only high level players. IMO, Tamas is an elite level coach and he has been able to out scheme teams for a game or so, before the teams with better players, like Wisconsin, adjust, and then it comes down to which team has the better players to win the match. Iâm not saying they donât have good players, but 2 high level players against teams with high level players at every position makes it hard to win 3 out of 5 games. I thought by now, Tamas would be able to recruit players comparable to Wisconsin, Minnesota and Nebraska, but I donât think he has. Anyway, my point is IMO Illinois biggest problem not being able to match the number of high level players that the top teams in the B1G have. Sure they may win occasionally against the top B1G teams, but not enough to win the B1G or make it past a couple of rounds of the tournament. That may be good enough for some some places, but I doubt it is at Illinois. Illinois setter is average at best, and that is sort of disappointing considering Tamas is a very good setting coach. Their L can look like a great player, but in the late stages of sets or matches, she shanks SR and blasts serves 10 feet long more often than not. Itâs still happening this year, just like it happened in the 2018 semi in the 5th game against Nebraska. 15 was a second fiddle on her high school team and she has never shed that role. Sheâs a high error player and not any better this year. Their MB from Nebraska began her high school career in a small central Nebraska school before moving to another small eastern Nebraska school. She was a 6â4 middle in a middle level Nebraska classification and was no more than slow and average. And I donât see that she is much better now-the B1G appears above her skill level. Illinois has large roster wholes that result in glaring weaknesses. Tamas does his best to hide and protect these weaknesses, but mostly the better teams find and attack them. Sorry đ Maybe they will win in Lincoln tomorrow night- like they did in 2018, but they donât have Poulter, Bastienelli, Quade or Fleming. . . So itâs unlikely

If you donât think 2-15 iowa, Rutgers, and Indiana are nights off idk what to tell you. That doesnât mean the big ten isnât a very good and deep conference but itâs just not true to imply that any team can win on any given night.
