The team that is best able to play in system
is the team that will probably have the best hitting %
and is the team that will probably win
PSU will be looking to get Rollins, Parker, & Starck's efficiency back to or above baseline after the loss to Purdue.
Parker, in particular, was blocked at least once and had several hitting errors in the fifth set.
I think they will be motivated to outperform and MN's job will be to match that intensity.
Giving Wenaas one-on-one, block tooling, and block seam opportunities to hit through will be one of the keys to victory.

I give Minny the edge here in 5, would love to see some more production from the middle early to stress Hord and Holland for PSU otherwise Samedy will have a harder time (and by harder I mean only hit .320ish with 25+ kills). The blocking matchups here are going to be huge, who's front row with Blossom more and can they take advantage. Where most teams seem to struggle is "taking advantage of a smaller block" is recognizing that its not the same thing as trying to bounce balls, a swing high and hard off the top or right over will be much harder to handle and control

This is such an interesting one- with both teams struggling to get production out of the left pin. If PSU passes well enough to keep Hord extremely involved like they did against Purdue (man she had some highlight reel kills) then it frees up Parker and the outsides more and makes PSU dangerous. Minnesota- Wenaas is an X-factor and has to be good and the block has to be good!

I just love this match up- truly never disappoints. These two teams could be in the 200's RPI and it would still be a fantastic match.
How lucky are we to have this followed by OSU/Wisconsin? BUCKLE IN, Y'ALL.
