These are the final season averages, so I think that would include all matches. You can find them at the NCAA's website here. Just select women's volleyball as the sport, D1 as the division, and the year you want to look at. Then click on the team tab and finally use the dropdown to get opp. hitting percentage (some years have it listed on the main team page). I didn't realize until just now, but it looks like you can also look at the reports from each week. So you could look at just the pre-tournament numbers if you wanted to rather than looking at the entire season. I might do that, actually, when I have some time. Yeah, those stats include the regular season along with the tournament. I think looking at pre-tournament stats, for your analysis is a good idea. IIRC, most national champs have had a regular-season hitting percentage > .300 and an opponent hitting percentage < .200 Lots of variability in pre-season and conference SOS. I would put Stanford's SOS against Texas' any day. Ultimately, it's not where you've been that counts, but where you end up, especially this season. UW had injuries (Sanders, Hoffman, Endsley, Calle, and Summers), and made a major line-up change (swapping Crenshaw/Bays at L/DS) that has shored up the passing and floor-defense. Having a healthy Sanders back has shored up the blocking, which had fallen to the mid-Pac. UW held Stanford to .194, with 12 blocks (4.0/set) and 43 digs (14.33/set).

Watching this match now that it's on youtube and WOW I can't stop replaying EMP's one handed set to Claire Hoffman on the right in SET 1!!!!!!!!!!!! A THING OF BEAUTY YES! That was so early in the match that I had forgotten about it, but that was a jaw-dropping move. I think that everyone watching just went "WOW". Not to that level, but another suprising skill move was Emony Bush turning a tight set against a solid double block into a left-handed wipe out of bounds.
