recognizing that the Pac-12 was arrogant and poorly run and not really deserving of any sympathy (I don't see anyone crying over the old Big East) does not necessarily make someone bitter. "Got what they deserved" absolutely does, though. That's you Again, your critical thinking skills leave a lot to be desired. I don't have time to continue to explain basic logic to you.

Wonder if Hawaii can stay affiliate members for the other sports like men’s volleyball, beach etc Apparently, the Big West has a $25,000 affiliate fee per sport. I guess it would be between them and Hawaii if they can work it out. If not, they would likely become affiliates of other conferences or organizations. So for Hawaii men's volleyball, for example, they could join the MPSF.

Seems like a good deal for Hawaii. They don't have to pay travel subsidies anymore. And of the available options for the Mountain West, I think this was the best one. They now have the minimum eight members that they need, so they can take some time to decide on their next move. Edit: The Mountain West is also paying Hawaii's $750K exit fee from the Big West.

I don’t know enough about the conference landscape So not sure what Hawaii would do with those sports The only question is if Hawai’i exits the Big West in MVB, does the conference need to add another member to qualify for the auto-bid (they will have 5 if Hawai’i leaves). If not, there may not be as much incentive to keep them. The factors are the two match home or away scheduling with MVB and any travel costs that Hawai’i may be providing.

The BWC will want Hawai'i MVB, to stay at the six teams needed for the AQ. Of course things could change, if they add more teams down the road.

The Big West will be fine for 2025, but they may not want Hawai’i to stay. They will have time to decide one way or the other. * I tried to search for the number of teams required for the auto bid, but didn’t find it at first. It is definitely 6 as you indicate.

I liked the Big West for Hawaii. Selling out all the other sports for football is… not fun to me.

Going to be a lot more traveling for Hawaii. Nevada, New Mexico, Colorado, Texas, Wyoming.. I'm interested if they are going to use the same model as men's volleyball (2 home one year, 2 away the following year). Even if they I don't think travel is going to be that much of an issue. We did that in the old WAC and already have to play back-to-back matches on the road.

Going to be a lot more traveling for Hawaii. Nevada, New Mexico, Colorado, Texas, Wyoming.. I mean, they don't have to pay the travel subsidies anymore. Also, there's still a lot of travel in the Big West. Hawaii is an island in the middle of the ocean.

I liked the Big West for Hawaii. Selling out all the other sports for football is… not fun to me. Making Hawaii non-football athletes get on a plane for 7-8 hours, to play one match/game/meet, then get right back on the plane to come back to the islands .... is nearly criminal.
