thats so dirty. (also why lol) also fubo has a free trial, have you tried that? Haven’t looked into that, but maybe I will. My plan was to listen to the radio stream while I do laundry and then watch the playback later with lots of seltzer’s and/or wine. the times they get added to YT can be hit and miss... some are immediately after, others havent been until the afternoon after

One thing that kinda gets overlooked... is I feel Wisconsin's second ball isn't that great. Barnes is really inconsistent with her placement. I think Nebraska can definitely use this to their advantage... Force tips (when you have to) to Hilley. Make wisconsin put up a second ball for Orzol or Loberg. I do not agree at all. We play pretty well OOS and Barnes is solid. We also have Ashburn often set second ball and she's a setter. Most of Wisconsin's production is out of the middle, so I find it hard to believe that Wisconsin plays OOS pretty well. Theoretically without the threat of middle there is too much pressure on the pins OOS for them to be effective. I personally think Barnes is ok at OOS setting, but regardless of her abilities I would still think making Hilley take as many first balls as possible is the right plan because wisconsin is a middle heavy team. Plus how often is Ashburn and Hilley both in the backcourt, isn't it like literally half a rotation?

Quote from Stivrins in tonight’s match “There's a lot of outside pressure that people like to put on us playing Wisconsin and I don't think that that has any relevance to what actually happens on the court,” Lauren Stivrins said. “For us, it's just another game and we're hoping to take this from good to great. That is such a load of BS. They've been swept by WI a bunch and any competitive athlete won't like that. They haven't won the big in a few years either and WI has. Of course there's pressure to win. Perhaps she's trying to fool herself into believing otherwise. What should she say? Hypothetical. ‘They’ve had our number the last few years but we’re the better program and tonight we’ll show we’re by far the better team and this won’t even be close. Trust me’ Aside from the servers that support this board melting there is nothing any player or coach could say that isn’t coach speak without it becoming a story in itself which is what they don’t want. It’s expected by everyone.

I think Nebraska is the better team at this point of the season and they're at home. But I dont think the separation is large. The Badgers need Devyn Robinson to not only get good block touches, but to convert offensively at a higher percentage than she has against the better teams in conference. She'll get a couple highlight reel kills, but overall can she convert at .350 or better. And then the Badgers need whatever they put together on the right to perform better overall. If you could change on the fly like hockey, it would probably be okay with Smrek blocking and Demps taking swings. As it is, one or both needs to step up. And the third point, this team struggles to close out sets, unlike that 2019 team in conference play. If the Badgers have a lead in the 20s, they need to take that set, full stop. There's not much margin for error.

Theories over fact.

Stop the BS and Belechek (sp) it.

Wisconsin always plays their best against Nebraska minus that weird 2018 match lol. But I have yet to see Nebraska play their best game against the Badgers since like 2016. Sometimes teams just really get up to play other teams (like us against Penn State). I do think by position, this matchup is much closer than it was in 2019, but at the same time, on paper I wouldn’t have thought Wisconsin would’ve swept Nebraska in 2019, never mind 3 times.
Nebraska is gonna have to be ready for a lot of their attacks to stay in play (Purdue kinda prepared them) but they’re also gonna have to be ready for a lot of aggressive attacking OOS. If Smrek starts, Nebraska won’t have to worry about her OOS since she won’t be set, but they’ll have to be ready for Orzol trying to use the block. I have only watched one Wisky game since Robinson was moved to the middle, but her connection on the slide didn’t look good. Idk if that’s to be expected, but if it is, that should help the Huskers when Robinson and Loberg are together in that one rotation

Doesn't that just further prove that the middles for Wisconsin carry the team. Like what proportion of those kills by OH's, for example, are in system versus out of system? And when OOS, what's the difference in efficiency? I don't know these stats, but I would like to believe in system, when you have the middles involved, would be significantly better. So given this theory, I'm saying going for hilley is a good strat in terms of making her take first balls. I'm NOT evaluating how good Wisconsin's OH are lol (they are all good).

Stop the BS and Belechek (sp) it. Most coaches will tell you they don’t have to tell their players it’s a big game, the players know it are are already amped up. It’s common for coaches to give that team message to the team and dial back on that adrenaline rush so they can focus on the necessary blocking and tackling heading into the game. Coaches will tell players it’s the blocking and tackling that got you here in this position for it to be a big game, focus on the process because they know that big game rush is already there.

Now we're parsing the hell out of Stivrins' coach-speak answer about a conference rival?
Don't put so much thought into it. She's making sure not to give them bulletin board material.

I look forward to this match-up every year bc I get treated to NE fans. Love ya Outside produces more kills than our middles. That's all. Dana: 3.74 KS, 500 Julia : 3.5 KS, 230 Grace: 2.5 KS, 220 Devyn : 2.4 KS 325 Plus a bunch of platoon outsides who've played a bunch when Grace struggles. Curious, did you have your better looking, smarter brother do your research in school, too? 😘

But overall your point is quite valid.

The biggest question going into this match is how soon will the replay be up so those without BTN can watch it? Oh and... GBR* *one of only 2 or 3 times you’ll see me post that in any given season. you need to do a free 2 week trial on Sling, YoutubeTV or one of the others. C'mon...should be a good one

Those seem to be the stats accessible to everyone lol, but i was curious about OOS stats for OH's cause that would qualify if the strategy that Avid proposed was a good one or not. Also, I'm not that much of a nebraska fan. I'm just a huge passing and defence nerd and just like watching good defensive and passing teams. I could careless who wins. FYI i actually had Wisconsin winning last season.
