I think they were looking for a more in depth response. That response is such “coach speak” anyway can say that because it’s obvious. I missed the part where it asked for in depth response. Oh wait, they didn’t. It is obvious, and I stated it was obvious when I said they are the biggest match determiners. I’m sorry my response wasn’t up to your standards. From here on out I’ll DM anything I may post for approval or edits. Enjoy your day. did I strike a nerve? Don’t be so offended. You weren’t wrong with what you said but to me it was pretty obvious the poster was looking for more than “serve pass” but maybe I’m just wrong. Could be. Even though the op even said “bonus points for NOT obvious responses”

Blocking helped Maryland disrupt and beat Wisconsin. That's been one area where the Huskers have not scored high yet compared to others in the Big Ten.

Nebraska doesn't get a lot of stuff blocks, but they get a lot of good touches. (or at least touches that Cook is content with, @bigwestfan2 can chime in) They need their OH1 to be smart and disciplined. Ally is not the best blocker... while Sun is.. but she commits a lot of errors (in my observation this season). They don't need to stuff Dana or Devyn... they need to get quality touches to allow their defense to do the work they've been doing.

I realized I still have my lightsaber from the 2017 match. Somehow it still lights up after the same damn batteries have been sitting in there for four years.

Quote from Stivrins in tonight’s match
“There's a lot of outside pressure that people like to put on us playing Wisconsin and I don't think that that has any relevance to what actually happens on the court,” Lauren Stivrins said. “For us, it's just another game and we're hoping to take this from good to great.

Alright Husker and Badger fans. It’s a slow day at the office so please help me pass time! What are 3 keys to your team winning the game?? Bonus points for unorthodox and not so obvious points! Also neutral fans feel free to pick a team and play along! IMO, Nebraska needs to target Orzol in SR the entire night, second ball contact is going to be big (Roddy/Akana) because we need to be able to take big rips out of system (specifically Krause on the RS and Madi needs to just keep doing what she's doing) because I foresee some long rallies (with this, Batenhorst/Sun/Lauenstein need to get OOS kills and not bank on tips and roll shots when they don't have ideal sets), and I think Krause needs to have a big night, both offensively and blocking on RS. Second point is long but it all relates to the same thing, right? These are great points! Especially the 2nd one!

If you ignore blocking and tackling and as a neutral fan things I think could determine who wins: Which combination (Batenhorst, Sun)or (Loberg, Demps) gives you the best production? Can Nebraska run a fast offense to handle the size of Wisc when Rettke and Smrek are on the floor. They are big to hit around but can be neutralized with a fast offense. Can Nebraska take advantage of the Wisc back line? If I’m NU I’m going to try and funnel the ball to Civitia and make her move laterally. Will take anything and everything to neutralize their block!

That is such a load of BS. They've been swept by WI a bunch and any competitive athlete won't like that. They haven't won the big in a few years either and WI has. Of course there's pressure to win. Perhaps she's trying to fool herself into believing otherwise.

Barnes is really inconsistent with her placement. I think Nebraska can definitely use this to their advantage... Force tips (when you have to) to Hilley. Make wisconsin put up a second ball for Orzol or Loberg.

The biggest question going into this match is how soon will the replay be up so those without BTN can watch it? Oh and... GBR*
*one of only 2 or 3 times you’ll see me post that in any given season.

Assuming Civita is playing tonight (and who knows...) that means Ashburn is only on the floor for her turn as serving sub for Dana (or Devyn). Yes, Izzy can take second touch when she's on the floor, but that is less often when Civita plays.

My plan was to listen to the radio stream while I do laundry and then watch the playback later with lots of seltzer’s and/or wine.
