Just watched part of the last match the Huskers won against the Badgers - it was a reverse sweep in Lincoln. The crowd was into that one as the Huskers mounted the comeback. I hope the Badgers don't take the crowd out of it early tonight. Just a note here on service: In 2019 the Huskers played the Badgers 3 times and recorded 1 ace total. Wisconsin aced the Huskers 12 times in those 9 games (with none in the last two games). That seems to be an area of concern.

10 hours before opening serve and this is already one of the longest match threads of the season. Love it!

I had to look up how far back that was, and to see how many current Badgers were even there. Hilley and Rettke, freshmen year, Sept 2017. Loberg came in briefly in the 4th and 5th sets (and had a block), maybe to give Madison Duello a bit of rest? Duello was coming back from ACL surgery and had missed the entire 2016 season. Stivrins was the only current Husker who played.

Alright Husker and Badger fans. It’s a slow day at the office so please help me pass time! What are 3 keys to your team winning the game?? Bonus points for unorthodox and not so obvious points!
Also neutral fans feel free to pick a team and play along!

I think they were looking for a more in depth response. That response is such “coach speak” anyway can say that because it’s obvious.

I do like the addition that the teams are of similar talent levels - does make sense that whoever executes the fundamentals best will be in a great position.

IMO, Nebraska needs to target Orzol in SR the entire night, second ball contact is going to be big (Roddy/Akana) because we need to be able to take big rips out of system (specifically Krause on the RS and Madi needs to just keep doing what she's doing) because I foresee some long rallies (with this, Batenhorst/Sun/Lauenstein need to get OOS kills and not bank on tips and roll shots when they don't have ideal sets), and I think Krause needs to have a big night, both offensively and blocking on RS. Second point is long but it all relates to the same thing, right?

Also neutral fans feel free to pick a team and play along! If you ignore blocking and tackling and as a neutral fan things I think could determine who wins: Which combination (Batenhorst, Sun)or (Loberg, Demps) gives you the best production? Can Nebraska run a fast offense to handle the size of Wisc when Rettke and Smrek are on the floor. They are big to hit around but can be neutralized with a fast offense. Can Nebraska take advantage of the Wisc back line? If I’m NU I’m going to try and funnel the ball to Civitia and make her move laterally.

The team that gives it 110% percent, takes it play by play always wins.😃 says every coach and player in history.

That response is such “coach speak” anyway can say that because it’s obvious. I missed the part where it asked for in depth response. Oh wait, they didn’t. It is obvious, and I stated it was obvious when I said they are the biggest match determiners. I’m sorry my response wasn’t up to your standards. From here on out I’ll DM anything I may post for approval or edits. Enjoy your day.
