As a Husker fan I’d still have to pick UW but this should be a barn burner

It’ll be interesting to see how the Wisconsin youngsters handle the pressure from playing at Devaney.

Wouldn’t have thought this a month ago but I’m now leaning toward NU beating Wisc on Wed. The middles cancel each other out, I expect both sides to have middle production. Losing Hart hurts because that moves Robinson to the middle and Smrek to the right. She is physically imposing but slow off the floor, Krause gives NU an advantage at RS. Kubic and Orzol are close and imagine both will get production. The other 2 lefts for both teams are all over the place. Probably an advantage with Loberg and Demps? Setters are close. Libero are close. But NU has the advantage on the other DS. Civitia is solid when the ball comes straight to her but is a liability when she has to take a step in either direction laterally. Then as always it comes to the serve game, close but I think at home NU is more comfortable and gets Wisc out of system more than Wisc does NU.

10 match winning streak vs 9 match winning streak. Somebody will be starting over after this one. This match is huge! A Husker victory gives them a 2 match lead and a cushion where they can lose one other match before they face Wisconsin in Madison. A Badger victory will probably mean that the Huskers might have to win out and would have to beat Bucky on their home court in order to win the Big.

The probability of Wisconsin beating Nebraska for the fourth time in a row is low. They have had victories despite themselves lately, thanks in part to crowd support.

In 2019, Sheffield’s biggest concern with Nebraska was their out-of-system play - particularly on the left side. I think Nebraska’s transition game and OOS attacks power them to a 3-1 win.

In past years NE could not stop Retke. WI is not a one pony Retke team, but NE matches up, except for Retke IMO. Thus the keys for NE: Serving, keep WI OOS to limit Retke offense. Can the NE back row dig Retke's shots and possibly frustrate her? The last few years, WI has been sweeping NE. WI always brings their "A" game vs NE. Huge challenge for NE, which may need their best game yet to prevail. Again IMO. GO BIG RED! GO HUSKERS!

Rettke is Rettke, there just really isn’t a game plan for that other than “do the best you can” serving and passing are the big keys, not that they aren’t always.
