Morse. 3 serving errors. Maybe throw in Daley to serve next time. williams may have earned some more serving opportunities until Borup returns

Duck youth (Robey/Morse) doing some positive things tonight. I agree, they both looked more comfortable tonight (as did Taylor Williams). Robey has been playing well offensively but came alive with the block tonight. Morse passed much better today, more like she did earlier in the season. Missed some serves but I think he’s on them all to be more aggressive. The setters still don’t seem comfortable setting Williams, but they need to mix it up some more or the opposing block can just ignore her and camp on our other hitters. We’ll probably just get the kinks worked out with this lineup in time for Borup to return (don’t know when that is but I hope it’s before we play the LA schools again 🙏). Nuneviller her usual stud self, seemed like she almost willed the ducks to win. Fun to watch her play.

It looked like in softball when the 3rd baseman leans into the bleachers to catch a foul ball. If I'm not mistaken, they had her in the serve receive rotation during the next play... If I was Hambly, I would yank her out of the formation... k maybe I'm being too mean here . I guess it was a tough play, and she tried her best I suppose. Stanford will not have good ball control or defense until they have more pin depth and competition in their own gym. The issues aren't just about the injuries, like the issues in the spring weren't just about Covid. There aren't enough good players on the roster. Some Stanford fans were talking about a FF for this group. When they face tougher competition in practice, they will have more fight in matches. Rubin will help. As a freshman she'll give Stanford an OH like Oglivie was tonight. The Card are also getting another ball control player in 2023 that hasn't been announced yet. She will give them more depth at DS. But any Stanford fans shocked by this match need to adjust expectations.

That was the worst performance from a Stanford squad I've seen in a long time. That was bad. On every level. Then you must have missed the previous couple of matches. I meant in person

It blows my mind that Brooke Nuneviller, an ex-LIBERO, can dominate a match like that as an OH. She did it against double blocks, from back row, and often out of system, broken plays. She mixes up her shots show well, line, angle, off speed to deep line, hard cut, and so many tools off the block, making it look effortless.
Oregon's defense is lightyears ahead of Stanford's. They track down so many balls that Stanford can't even dream of getting to. I would like to see Oregon go far; but just don't think it can happen unless there are more weapons than what was shown this evening.

Working like crazy to add inch after inch to her jump touch, and getting up to 10'4" (or whatever it is), definitely qualifies her as an OH. And her ball control skills and reading ability qualify her as a libero. Best of both worlds, in one player.

I don't envy whoever's making the Stanford highlight reel for this season.

Brooke Nuneviller is simply a great player.

I don't envy whoever's making the Stanford highlight reel for this season. The lowlight reel would be a lot easier no doubt: Start with various timeline pictures of their bench with players in street clothes, walking boots, wearing sunglasses (concussion protocol), etc. Make sure to show Xu limping in the Arizona match and Tufuga coming into to set for her. Throw in the spike to Oglivie's head and Beaven coming out with the L jersey before the start of set three vs UCLA. Also include Miner getting a facial against Washington St or was it U-Dub which probably was the reason for her concussion. And don't forget to throw in some video clips of Hambly saying how the team had so much promise, but then the injuries ...

Nunerviller has her ups and downs offensively, and tends to weaken as the match progresses. I'm used to seeing Oregon outrun their headlights, but in this match, Stanford was the deer in the headlights.

And the idea that Stanford doesn't have enough good players on the roster ... is breathtaking, startling, inconceivable... choose your term.

Typically pretty quiet here but--Tends to weaken as the match progresses???... she has literally carried the team in the last parts of numerous matches. Far from weakening, (aside from time with a baseball sized ankle that she played through) Nunneviller has an extra gear that regularly shows up in crunch time. Much respect.
