Cook said some fans were yelling some things at Maryland players for taking a knee. Said some huskers were in tears before the match and apologized to Maryland after. This must have been what they were talking to Jones about at the end of the match. That’s disappointing |

The crowd got quiet as the anthem singer was about to begin, and I heard one or two people jeer something loudly toward the Maryland players. I just…yeah. Even “Nebraska nice” can’t overpower some cultural trends |

I think it’s disappointing a day after Veterans Day that they took a knee also but heaven forbid we support those who gave up their life for this country. Because after all, it’s just not popular these days is it.

I think it’s disappointing a day after Veterans Day that they took a knee also but heaven forbid we support those who gave up their life for this country. Because after all, it’s just not popular these days is it. usually I’d leave you to the wolves but genuinely if you can’t understand why they would take a knee you should probably just keep your thoughts to yourself on this one |

I think you're misunderstanding why people would take a knee during the anthem. I would love to explain why, but I get the feeling that you're the type of person that won't understand no matter how many times someone gives you an explanation. |

I think you're misunderstanding why people would take a knee during the anthem. I would love to explain why, but I get the feeling that you're the type of person that won't understand no matter how many times someone gives you an explanation. And I think if you would’ve been a parent that answered the door to a soldier telling you that your son would never be coming home, that he would never get the opportunity to be a father, or to grow old with the woman he loved, maybe you would also have a different perspective. It may not be popular but I choose to respect the flag and especially respect the people who gave up so much to represent that flag. And I’m not apologizing for it. |
