I'm gonna let Rainelle and the Terps have the last word, and the hopefully this discussion can be over with.

I think it’s disappointing a day after Veterans Day that they took a knee also but heaven forbid we support those who gave up their life for this country. Because after all, it’s just not popular these days is it. usually I’d leave you to the wolves but genuinely if you can’t understand why they would take a knee you should probably just keep your thoughts to yourself on this one Yes. We have protected free speech. Vets fight to protect this. We support free speech even if what someone does or says makes our blood boil. (Apologies to Mr Adams and Mr Sorkin)

College football has, for as long as I remember and I'm getting old, had the teams stay in their locker rooms until well after the anthem has been played, and nobody seems to notice or care or have a problem with it.
Maybe other sports should do likewise.

I think you're misunderstanding why people would take a knee during the anthem. I would love to explain why, but I get the feeling that you're the type of person that won't understand no matter how many times someone gives you an explanation. And I think if you would’ve been a parent that answered the door to a soldier telling you that your son would never be coming home, that he would never get the opportunity to be a father, or to grow old with the woman he loved, maybe you would also have a different perspective. It may not be popular but I choose to respect the flag and especially respect the people who gave up so much to represent that flag. And I’m not apologizing for it. The people who lost loved ones in armed service aren't the only people who get to have opinions about the flag or the country and they need to stop pretending that their opinions mean more than other people's. I imagine if you've seen your country build itself on centuries of systemic injustice, fail to acknowledge it, continue to marginalize people of color, ignore systemic poverty that disproportionately affects you, continue to imprison generations of you, and pretend away that history because that racism is just a bit more subtle now than it was 60 years ago, you might have some kind of feeling that would make you want to tell Lee Greenwood to go drink bleach. So wrap yourself in a star-spangled Tommy Hilfiger shirt if you want to, but you don't get to say boo to someone who wants to make the smallest, politest form of protest.

No one is asking you to apologize for it. Just mind your own !!!!###$$$!!!ing business when it comes to how *other people* choose to view the flag.

Political statements are toxic. It's fair game, I think, to ask what happened. Beyond that, opining as to who is right, who is wrong . . . I hope the moderators put an end to such discussions on this board.

Except yelling at girls we are hosting is not Patriotic. I’m with you if you wanted to cheer a “USA!” Or “Thank you vets’” or something though. Which brings me to my question? Did anyone hear exactly what they said? Was it a slur? What did they yell? There was at least one “Stand up, you’re trash!”

That dance-off between the benches during that long challenge in Set 3 was great. New favorite challenge pastime for sure.

It’s people like you that have made Volley Talk so toxic and a shadow of its former self. People are sick and tired of this drivel. The most overused words in the English language right now are ‘racist’ and ‘systemic’.It’s been very effective however in getting people to shut up and not share their opinion,Wasn’t that your goal? It was inappropriate for the guy to yell that out. That is been established.. However it sure as hell not the end of the world. The players were moved to tears? When they walk by a veteran who is homeless and sleeping in his own urine, are they moved to tears? When they see a guy in a wheelchair without his limbs, because he stepped on the land-mine while serving his country, are they moved to tears? But because some random guy yelled out of the stands during the national anthem,we are profusely blubbering apologies?? What a bunch of woke nitwits. And congratulations again for being the reason that Volley Talk keeps going down the tubes. PS-Isn’t Tommy Hilfiger so 90s?

I agree with everyone else just mind your own f@#%ing business. How is someone else kneeling physically affecting you? Or better yet what immediate outcome is it having on your life?? Ohh wait none!! Just because your family is a vet doesn’t mean you are the only person who gets a say about the flag. And better yet, your opinion doesn’t bear any more significance than anyone else’s.. it’s just that, an opinion. Ohhh so you get to express you feelings for the flag and it’s okay but others can’t express their opinion/feelings towards the flag (peacefully) because it’s different than yours? Isnt that what so called America is built on? Freedom of speech, assembly, protest yada yada? Yeah right! Its hipocrisy and bigotry to the core!

Like someone help me understand. You're literally condemning POC for protesting (peacefully) a flag associated with bringing them and there ancestors to this country solely as slaves…. 😂😂😂
I-…… make it make sense.
