No one should’ve said a word when they chose to take a knee and it’s a shame as the host of a team that they chose to do that but, we sure as hell shouldn’t be ashamed of being patriotic and loving our country. I think you're misunderstanding why people would take a knee during the anthem. I would love to explain why, but I get the feeling that you're the type of person that won't understand no matter how many times someone gives you an explanation. He's not misunderstanding it. He's deliberately misrepresenting it. Just like he used to do when he was "holidayhusker". |

The most overused words in the English language right now are ‘racist’ and ‘systemic’.It’s been very effective however in getting people to shut up and not share their opinion,Wasn’t that your goal? When they walk by a veteran who is homeless and sleeping in his own urine, are they moved to tears? Yawn....so who won the match? It could be argued that Maryland lost the match and not that Nebraska won it. 25 kills and 25 errors for the Terps. 19 errors for the Huskers. I believe this is what's called an ugly win, although that certainly trumps a pretty loss. |

At least from my Facebook feed of ppl attending the game, there was one person shouting mean things and a smaller group saying “get up!” Or “stand up” either out loud or to the people around then etc.
Again other people have kneeled during the national anthem it’s weird that this particular game triggered people…

The loudest guy who said “sit down you trash” sits near me and is definitely a season ticket holder. |

I would love to explain why, but I get the feeling that you're the type of person that won't understand no matter how many times someone gives you an explanation. can you give us the readers digest version of "why" they are kneeling? i would like to see an article asking those that are kneeling why they are kneeling. that would give them a better platform to address their grievances. and why is people protesting against protestors wrong? i don't think one should be derogative to protestors--but the majority of protesting the last few years has led to rioting. if you say it hasn't, there is a lot of film footage out there to prove you wrong. you just have to acknowledge that it is happening. if you can "peacefully" protest, have at it, do it respectfully. if you want to protest the protests, do it respectfully. unfortunately, this society has turned to violence way to many times. i do not know what was said to the maryland players, i only have to see how the nebraska players reacted to know it was not good. |
