I’m just not gonna be shocked if Isanovic stays She has a 0.202 career hitting percentage. I don't know that I think retaining her should be Van Neil's first priority if he can have any luck with the portal, but I guess we will see what happens.

What better pins would even *want* to go to Arizona State? ASU hasn't made the postseason since 2015. Isanovic is great. She hits a heavy ball. I think if ASU's first 2 contacts improve, she can be better than the hitting % indicates. I just don't see how Arizona State finds two pins in the portal that would start over Isanovic.

Maybe nobody, that's why I keep saying "might". I just was pleasantly surprised with the hire since I didn't think the admin cared enough about volleyball to pay for a well-experienced coach, so I thought maybe he could connect with some kids in the portal and sell them on the idea that he has enough scholarships to put together a decent team this year and pay for them to go to school and live in Phoenix--I don't know a single 20 something year-old that doesn't love it there.

I'm not saying it will happen--they might not get anybody of substance at all--but it would be cool to see another team in the Pac be competitive and relevant. Edit: Point taken on their first two contacts too. Just not sure how many great libs and setters are left in the portal at this point either. Lots to consider about what to throw your money behind in Tempe.

IMO, you're significantly underestimating her abilities. She's a very good player. Retaining Iman would also be a PR coup for JJ, much like Dodson returning to UCLA after Reft was announced. Top player deciding to return gives an "I believe in the new coach" vibe. Makes the new coach's life a little easier, to boot.

Hmm looks like people who don't like ASU want Iman to stay? Weird but Okay. Maybe she is following the coach where ever she ends up? They seemed to have a tight relationship.

Isanovic has been an All-Conference player. If she played on a better team that didn't need her to pass, her stats would be amazing - and she could be a 3-ro OH for a top team.
Getting her to stay would be a huge coup. Her and Levinska are a dangerous 1-2 punch - and why ASU has been able to threaten better teams as much as they have.

I’d love to see her at like Washington State or somewhere like that though (if I can’t manifest Parra there first). Maybe San Diego?🤔

Idk, right after Sanja was let go Iman posted “smiles” to insta (to which another player responded, “smiles all around”) Anyway Iman is a brilliant person with a wide range of academic abilities and getting into the right grad program will take priority. As an ASU fan, I hope she stays. But I won’t be surprised either way.

I don't think you get it. People are saying ASU would be better off if she stayed, not exactly 'hoping' that she stays. And anyway - I definitely have a soft spot for ASU. They captured my heart with their messy ball control, going 5 with teams they have no business to (for better AND for worse) and power hitting now and then to somehow clean up the mess.

Iman is not staying at ASU. Sun Devil Volleyball is removed from her instagram. And looking at her followers, I think you can see where she's going
