I can't believe I'm saying this, but if something were to happen to Ikenaga, I would have total confidence in Janelle Gong to step in and do the job. You mean that collision with Lang?

Not opposed to the Igiede and BVS All American candidacy resume building stats in the win, however!

If Riley and the right side platoon player could just hit above .200 we’d be a potential top 25 Team.. hitting .125 and .138 isn’t going to cut it against top 50 teams!

I really loved that play where it’s Brooke, Idiege, and Lang in the front. BVS, as the off blocker, came to dig up a tip and stayed on that side for Lang to set her. All they need to do is fix the blocking but Idiege got lucky with a solo block.
Here’s the clip

Kanoa is in Vegas for the Warrior football. Cool. Not saying bad, just different. We like Scott better. Kanoa cannot shut up and he is so negative the second Hawai'i falls behind. There is a sweet balance between play-by-play calling with some banter vs too much talking and being negative.

As a fan of the Wahine as my second favorite program, Igiede and BVS are the stand outs at this point. Lang is progressing well, but her game is getting the ball to the middles or getting the pins hittable sets. Williams has made a lot of progress working with her since the start of the season. BVS does the most with the sets to the pins or the pipe at this point. Ikenaga is solid. Gong is disruptive as a server and picks up balls off that, to her credit. Wagoner is better in 6 rotations that she may be given credit here for, in my opinion. Leoniak is inconsistent now but has a lot of potential. The team will miss BVS a lot next year, but Leoniak could develop into a 6 rotation OH, with more training, and that leaves Dimirtas and DeGoede with more training on the right. Kiraly is clearly an option in the middle. I hear they have another defensive player coming in, which will make it all work. Plus, just a normal spring for them I think will be huge. I will say that the time just Igiede has spent on the beach has saved A LOT of points for the Wahine this fall!

I am a little bummed that Devin Kahahawai chose Texas, not sure if Hawaii was heavily recruiting her, but she would be a big help on the leftside for Hawaii.

Not to be a jerk, but if Texas was recruiting her, Hawai'i probably was too. Wisconsin has lost some recruiting battles to them too down the line, which hurts.

All that talent yet they still couldn’t win a natty in the recent years. #feelsbad

And I am glad I chose flying to see the family over regional volleyball in 2019, but Wisconsin hosting the regional looked like a pipe dream when I booked the tickets to Florida in 2019. I would have rooted hard for the Wahine if I had been in town against Nebraska!
