Sheffield on Badger radio after the match…interrupts the announcer to say they’re honoring Stephanie Samedy…gets asked what he said to Samedy after the match. He says “I just told how good she has been for the sport of volleyball and how good she has been for the Big Ten…not just a great player but a once-in-an-era player” (or something like that) 👏🏾 Samedy is amazing. If Shaffmaster had fed her through ‘til the end and she’d brought the game home for the Gophers, I’d be grumpy, but I’d have mad respect.

Some os Samedy's kills were beyond other-worldly

I better see Samedy with a nice European pro contract after the season is over. I do not want to see her in AU (sorry not sorry).

Everyone loves Samedy and how incredible she is ... but we win that match if we had better middle attack. Sorry, I mean more than zero middle attack.

If Minnesota could have challenged that bad call in set 4 they would have won - because Wisconsin touched it. Oh well.

You might go an entire season and not see a team blow a seven or eight point lead in a set.
We saw three of them today, in four sets.

I haven’t. Hope Minnesota has plenty of ice for Samedy’s shoulder. Even Yossianna Pressely is going WTF after reading that stat line. How cool is it that we have/had the opportunity to watch terminators in the vein of both Pressley and Samedy? They are a class above the rest. Congrats to Wisky for the big W.

1/6/16 for Minny's middles. This is why they don't belong in the top 10. Excited about next years Badgers team. Demps is really coming on, a lineup of Orzol, Wrobel, Robinson/smrek/demps (RS/MB) is exciting. who cares we have Samedy and still nearly (should have) beat you 🙄 Um. Should have been a sweep.

Still mad about the current team? Mad? No, just not a team I put much effort into caring about. A win changes nothing especially how many times they fell apart this game Gurl. You something else. 🙄

Just back after the senior recognition. When I heard Miyabe talk about her highlight: playing MB against Illinois I closed my eyes and prayed that Hugh was LISTENING.
Landfair at 85% with Miyabe in the middle would make for a stronger lineup than Miyabe on the left with any current middle. " we win that match if we had better middle attack. Sorry, I mean more than zero middle attack."
1 6 16 and some of those 16 were touches on overpasses that should have been kills but led to WI points. I believe that we would have won the match had our MBs simply hit .000 I recall one backslide that almost clicked but went out, but I believe the other HEs were WI blocks.
I guess I do not know my volleyball rules. Wenaas was called for a net violation in the fifth set, but from my seat the point was over, the ball hit the floor in the court before she hit the floor and then the net. Where was I wrong? Rule 11.3.1 in your particular case, but look for the appropriate rule for any example:
The key here is during the action of playing the ball. That means that once the ball is out of play (as by touching the court), this rule no longer applies and there is no fault. Is this still the case?
Mixed feelings about the match. If WI had lost would their top 4 seed have evaporated? I'd like to get seats for a regional final in Madison. I hope MN played well enough that the committee will slot them for a subregional seed.
Someone said that a team with no middle should not be a top ten team, but they were just a point or two in the 4th from beating a team with five cylinders clicking on 10+ kills while only having 3.

The thing is, Minnesota's middles aren't bad either...Myers was All Big Ten two years ago hitting .395. Shaff just can't connect with the middles and it'll prevent Minnesota from going deep IMO.

Just going to add this…a week from today no one outside the B1G wants to see any of the top 6 B1G teams in their portion of the NCAA bracket. This is going to be a great year in the tournament for the B1G. . . We’ll see how it goes. 🍿🍿🍿🏐
