A question for someone who was there in person, if you don't mind: When Wisconsin has their 'senior day', before the match they always take a minute to recognize the seniors of the opposing team during pre-match lineup announcements. Nothing big, just a mention and some flowers etc. And I've always wondered if that's something other teams do. Of course I recognize that dong so for a rival like Wisconsin might take it to 'another level', but that might make it all the more appropriate. So, anything like that today? Thanks. Yes, Hugh gave the Wisconsin seniors roses and they were all recognized and received applause from the fans. Yay, I'm glad to hear that. Good for Hugh, and Sheffield and any other coaches/teams that do likewise.

Such a heartbreaking loss, that could have easily gone the Gophers way, yet we were also fortunate to have a set 4. Another epic battle, between two B1G powers and the PAV was rocking. If that is the last match for Stephanie Samedy at the PAV we certainly got our moneys worth and saw one of her finest performances of her career. Can't even comprehend what she has meant to this program, kudos to Sheffield. For the Badgers Jade Demps was the difference maker tonight. It appeared as if the Gophers had no answer for her and was quite the surprise attacker. Barnes also had a special match. I agree with the Badgers fan who will be happy not to see this group of Wisconsin seniors again. The bad challenge by Hugh was mystifying. Shaffmaster even told him it hit her arm, so not sure why he still challenged with that knowledge. The Senior presentation was also pretty cool, all of the seniors tearing up and nice tributes from their teammates. Huskers have done this for many years.

It will be on the coaches radar for sure, so hopefully it can be developed more in the off season. Yeah, hopefully they'll get around to it in year 4 or 5.

Nice moment after the match. Sheffield stuck around and worked his way over to Hugh. Apparently asked Hugh would mind if he could talk with Samedy. Hugh said yes and Sheff found Samedy and talked with her for a couple of minutes. Nice gesture on Sheffield's part. Nice guy.

Can Minny try the USA run around in R1? We just get stuck here so often because Samedy isn't as terminal from the left. Are you talking about a stack? Have Miyabe receive serve from the left back and having Samedy running to her normal position? if MN had any kind of reliable middle attack, quick or gap set, and you aren't trying to get the first attack to the right pin then I think it would be worth trying. This requires a good pass. I don't know why they don't give Wenaas a PIPE or biq when they get stuck in ro1

On the Badger Volleyball Radio post-match, Sheffield talked about thanking her for all she's done for the sport and the conference. Most of my friends are nailed to the wall Badger fans, but not one can say anything negative about Stephanie Samedy beyond, "why does she have to be on the other side of the net?" I am for sure going to miss her presence in collegiate volleyball. I can't wait to cheer for her pro career.

I saw in the Star Trib today that Sheffield said he wouldn't have changed anything about the match, had Wisconsin been on the losing end of it. Very humble guy

(maybe only happened once, was mostly just hilarious).

What a match! High drama all the way through and both teams played remarkable volleyball. Props to everyone involved.
And I'll echo the love for Samedy. What a performance!

So, I had to go cook dinner and be a sensible person (which is hard to do when badger vball is on) about 10 points into the 4th. I presumed that the badgers had lost as they were not doing well. Was really surprised to find they had won this morning.

The streaks were weird but: Is there a stat for the percentage of points scored when Rettke is in the front row and when she's not?
