Yes...I thought Crenshaw would get the call this last weekend based on her solid performance with Hoffman out. I expected to see the line up of Crenshaw, Hoffman, and Sam....a line up that if playing the way they can gives UW their best chance of making a run in the tourney in my opinion. I was also surprised this year that Endsley didn't get more of a run in that spot considering her and the teams success last year and in the tourney. I guess time will tell if the coaches played the right hand or not. It seems pretty clear that Bush beat out Endsley for that spot. As you have stated before.

What I do know is that it's usually best for teams to play players based on how they are doing right now, rather than how they did last year.

If it is best to play players based on how they are playing right now...Crenshaw should have got the nod this last weekend...

If it is best to play players based on how they are playing right now...Crenshaw should have got the nod this last weekend... maybe he sees this playing time as more valuable to Bush than it is to Crenshaw for future development + it was said in the broadcast multiple times that he prefers Emoni's physicality over Crenshaw

I don't think that there is any distinction between Opp and OH when it comes to blocking. Middles are middles, and pins are on the pins. But I guess I see where you might not have been including Kipp if you disagree. OPPs tend to have better blocking numbers than OHs because, while on the right, they're facing a hitter everytime. OHs, while on the left, have a 50% chance of facing the setter, unless the opponent runs a 6-2 (which Oregon does). Bush has better blocking numbers than Drechsel.

She "roofed" them in the 1st set - after that, they mostly tried to hit over or around her. She also roofed them in the 3rd set - both were by her alone, not just "assists" from standing by. An effective serve, getting them out-of-season, sets up the block.
