I just had a minor epiphany. All season I've been irritated by announcers saying that serves and attacks are "wide" when they go out past the end line. I would call that "long", not "wide".
But just a moment ago there was a hit that went out on the sideline, and the announcer called it "long". So I think maybe she's talking about in reference to herself (on the sideline) rather than in reference to the hitter?

Look how Tuaniga almost never sets the ball behind her hitters... meanwhile Martin does it about 1/3rd of the time (and likely more whenever she's in a pinch)

Is there any distinction between a "pipe" and a "bic" left? Because I swear they are simply calling every middle-back set a "bic", regardless of tempo.
