In the network after-match interview, Kayla said that she had played in one of her last matches and I instantly felt sadness. She has been either good or very good in match after match and I feel like she still has not reached her peak volleyball. I hope that she receives some post season recognition (or a Natty). If they put together a reel of her finishes, I think that most people would recognize that she is as impressive as anyone in the country.

It is bizarre that Nebraska can sweep Purdue, who swept Wisconsin. And that we constantly beat Penn State.
But we can't beat Wisconsin. Lucky to take a set off them.
This is the weirdest timeline.

My biggest takeaway from last night was how mundane the 6th ranked and one of the hottest teams in the nation played when their opponent was siding out at extremely high percentages. How can you build rhythm and momentum when you can't score while serving? Your block has to be lights out and the opponent has to error at a very high rate. Purdue's block was very good and that was not nearly enough. I watch a lot of Purdue and they depend on Newton, Cleveland, and Otec to make the big plays. Nebraska makes Cleveland disappear, the block and Roddy had Newton altering shots and erroring, and the middles nullify Otec. Great serving, gameplan, and execution= a nice win. Do you think they weren’t trying? They didn’t have it last night and they were playing a team playing lights out D. I think that sometimes there is an unfair expectation that teams and players should be playing night in and night out at their best. Human beings just don’t do that.

I watch them because I am a fan. They were at home with second place in the B1G and a very good seed to play for. They looked normal in much of the 3rd game, but the Huskers quickly put them back into disarray and IMO that had most to do with them "not having it".

In 2018, Minnesota beat Nebraska twice, Oregon beat Minnesota twice, Nebraska beat Oregon twice. Sometimes ya gotta say, "What the _ _ _ _".
