I thought it was odd, too, but then I realized, the match is on BTN and conference officials were there to hand a trophy to the winner. They probably had 2 boxes of shirts in the wings.
Also, Saturday is senior night, and with six seniors, the post-match celebration there is gonna be long as it is.
Trust me, the players want to be alone at the top and they know they have to beat Indiana to do it. They’ll be ready.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a team celebrate a co-championship when they still have an opportunity to win the outright championship in a future game. I've seen it multiple times in the PAC-12. UK just did this yesterday as well. |

I've seen it multiple times in the PAC-12. Big Ten officials were there. They may have had no choice. After all , if Nebraska won, they'd be there to give them the trophy and then if Purdue beat Nebraska, they'd have the trophy to hand to them too. I thought it was odd. You celebrate a Championship as soon as you clinch a share of it! If Nebraska won, they would have gotten the confetti & trophy! How odd if Nebraska won last night, didn’t celebrate last night and went to Purdue & lost? You would have had Purdue celebrating a win & championship, Nebraska celebrating a loss(?) & Championship and interrupting senior night in Madison with a (oh, by the way..) trophy;) |
