Pretty sure it's going to be two reddish teams. 100 percent confident.

Shades of SSS on the Pav court Friday night. K Miner has such soft hands. Stanford has a wonderful setter. Is any other Freshman in DI VB as key?
That being said Stanford echoes the Gophers with 2 elite hitters carrying most of the load. Deep into the match Francis decided to get in on the kill parade.
When you are at a match you don't get much perspective play by play. I didn't think Stanford's passing was all the sharp. Miner was running around chasing passes. If MN keeps up the kind of serving pressure they put on SD, Stanford's hitting% will take a tumble. By the same token MN has to pass more consistently.
Stanford will have a tipping advantage and that could come into play when the big blocks are up.
If MN plays reasonably close to their late season level and the same Stanford team performance continues I think MN will prevail. Samedy looked to be keeping a lot in reserve vs SD. She cranked out rockets just a few times. Also MN executed without C.C. and played calm & collected when Glenn subbed in for Miyabe's trip to the locker room. Shaff had an above par performance (imo) with varied set locations and tempo.
MN might have to do more than simple MB lip service to keep the Stanford MBs closer to home. . As well, when Miner is in the front court Myers has to be Hans high on passes above the net. Don’t let her dump.
MN tried a few wrinkles in ro1 with mixed results. I'd like to see more of Samedy coming inside and Wenaas from the 3 meter line. Even though the plays did not lead to sideouts they were exciting to see. SD's run from 3-9 to 8-9 vs our ro1 in set 1 was painful. In set 2 they actually tried a gap set to to Husemann in ro1 that was turned back but she then got a block on the next SD attack. At 17-17 they stacked Miyabe on the left. Of course they served to her hoping to take her out of the play, but her good pass found SD's MB tracking Samedy on a possible back set and Shaff's set to Miyabe found het 1 on 1 with an open look for a FBSO. Nice! At 2-3 in the third SD's MB had to pay attention to a possible Samedy gap set and Shaff's quick tempo set to Miyabe allowed her to split the unclosed block. Nice again!
Based on Miyabe's late match locker room excursion I don't see why Glenn couldn't take back court coverage after Miyabe's nice float serve gets sided out. Where would this season have gone without Mee A Bee (MD announcer never got it right) She hit a most amazing back row kill on an OOS play that crossed the net and dove for the floor.
Hugh's oft repeated 'it's day to day' re. Landfair is disingenuous. If she is medical red shirt eligible then say so. She looked loose and was hitting confidently with pace in the warmups Friday.

This is going to be a battle. Stanford played well to take care of ISU. Hard to call it, but I'm hoping Stanford pulls it out.

For Setters, I've become a huge fan of Kendra Wait at Creighton. In any case, this is the 2nd round match I'm looking forward to the most. (Not involving my own teams)

What a match up in the 2nd round. I want Samedy back in the Final four but you can’t count Stanford out.

This match turns into a coin flip if CC can't play.

Without CC the two teams will have comparable floor defense
