The lack of crowd at the LA schools is always so weird to me. Like no one cares about this team at all. they'll have 2000 to 2500, hardly a lack of a crowd, it's a flippin 16,000 seat arena Reported as fewer than 1400 last night. In a city of 10 million or whatever.

When you live in one of the entertainment/tourist capitals of the world, a volleyball match isn’t peoples first choice of activity on saturday night. Also, the tournament always coincides with the end of the quarter at UCLA. Lots of people are studying for finals.

They like to tell it's because of traffic and more things to do.
The flyover states are so boring and cold everyone watches volleyball. So I read.
Edit: to prove my point someone posted what I just said while I was typing it. Because kids are studying on Saturday.

Well, in its last match of the regular season, UCF was getting drubbed 0-2 by Houston and found a way to come back and win in 5. Hopefully they can reset.
That match actually cost Houston a tournament bid. As they were one of the first 4 out, would be shocked they still would have been left out had they won that match.

McCall gets blocked way too much on the left. Does she not have an off the block hit or off the hands hit? Doesn't seem so. UCLA finish this set off!

yikes, that crowd doesn't even look like 1000, and no students, probably 1000 students in the library

I hate this excuse that people use for LA. “There’s so much else you can do”, the Lakers didn’t play, Clippers are in Sacramento, Kings didn’t play, UCLA doesn’t have any other teams playing, USC doesn’t have any teams playing. So this is arguably the only sports event in LA tonight (sorry if i missed a team). Its the end of the semester for most universities. There’s just no atmosphere at the UCLA game. So the lack of fans is just a bad look.

I'm pretty sure the point isn't that there's other sports going on, but that, people aren't as interested in sports in a city like LA. It's a different culture!

I love how people in LA are like “There’s things to do here” like they’re never been anywhere else in the country before. Oy vey.
