Illinois is a bad match up for Kentucky. Yikes. they are a bad match up for anyone when they play like that….. that’s the best game they have played all year. Easily. I’m not trying to take anything away from them obviously but idk how they sustained that level

If Illinois plays like this they could upset Texas. they have to get through Nebraska first

If Illinois plays like this they could upset Texas. Not if Washington does it first. Or Hawaii, I suppose.

Not the outcome I wanted/expected, but now I don’t feel so crazy ranking the Illini all those weeks people were wondering who still had them on. It was I!

you’re the one who seems to think the bracket is so whack and the committee sets the B1G up for all this success… Don’t you have the solutions? Lol This is the dumbest argument made yet. I don’t think the bracket is “whack”, I think the committee did make and has made very questionable decisions that lack consistency. That doesn’t change just because Illinois who was rightfully sent to a seeded Kentucky sub regional under the rules, beat Kentucky! The SEC certainly doesn’t need ay2013 coming to its defense. I’ve been down on the conference all year. THAT was perhaps justified in today’s match. But the justification of the actually bracket, given the criteria, doesn’t change just because Illinois smashed Kentucky. It would be like saying that when Kansas State took out a top 4 seed Nebraska in the second round that it somehow meant the committee should have done, what, exactly? I mean, that’s fine. It’s not my argument. I was just helping you understand what the post that I didn’t make meant, given it was blatantly obvious. And idk? The same thing a 14th seeded Nebraska team beating a 3rd ranked Washington team. Since you like to bring up the past..

After a fluke covid title, Kentucky returns to its regular scheduled programming (i.e. losing in the tourney at home) regularly scheduled programming ? Uk hasnt lost in the second round In years before today Who would have guessed that Kentucky’s season would end before Hawaii’s?

Like girl what? Give it a rest and stop implying that this is a fluke.

I think what makes me the most upset is that I feel like Illinois is gonna revert back to their error prone ways next match vs Nebraska…. They were fantastic today but I don’t think they will sustain it. Sucks when you get beat by a team that has a high ceiling and Low floor NO used being upset in advance, but it is very common for that to happen with teams coming off a big upset. Plus, Nebraska is familiar with Illinois, which I would think would work against Illinois.

Give it a rest and stop implying that this is a fluke. they are likely going to play a team they have already been swept by twice and when Illinois played Nebraska in Lincoln Illinois couldn’t hit a ball in the court to save their lives. They are a very talented team but they played way above their average today. I’m rooting for them to go far as I’ve been to multiple Illinois games this year and am a fan of the program

Kentucky was swept but Illinois took a set off of the Bluejays, so this means that the Illini should be considered heavy favorites to win today's match. The contentious poll results are hereby fully vindicated. Wasn’t the UK Creighton match at 5am? Lol It seems like it. I think the Illinois/Creighton match was- maybe 11AM central on a Friday? One of those tourney games was.
