I've never been so attracted to an "E" in my entire life. Omg. ”E” brings all the energy. Most of the time he looks like he’s high on X at rave. Lol

I am a fan of Parra since day one. Part of me thinks she just had an off night (again), but in the decades I’ve watched UT play I’ve never seen a player close off and collapse psychologically like that. A lot of the players were attempting to be supportive on the court and on the sidelines - but she was clearly in a dark space. It made me think she didn’t really know how stressful these situations are, an I forget how young these ladies are. It takes a special person to be as mentally strong as they may be physically. And now, boy howdy is she THE serving target - if the pressure wasn’t enough before. I don’t know - I really want her to snap out of it - but man she cost the team a lot tonight and I don’t quite understand why there wasn’t a substitution when so much was breaking down. They were able to compensate last night and tonight on the shoulders of everyone else - but that won’t work with Kentucky or Nebraska. Do you think being pulled would have helped her confidence any? Or just made things worse? Yes, she made some errors and had a bad night - but we had a good margin of error, and as coach, JE probably made a calculated decision: can we afford to lose a set to Rice vs. can we afford to lose Parra for the rest of the tournament mentally. He knows his players better than VTers. Yes, it would be great if the entire team was composed of Honey Badgers. But some of them are mere mortals. Ya'll act like anything less than a total beat-down of the opposing team is a failure. Take a beat - even with the errors, we still swept Rice. This was a solid win. The tournament is a pass-fail test. You move on just the same, whether you win sets by 2 points or 20... Yeah. I mean I think your take is valid too - thought the same.

I think Parra will bounce back. She didn’t have a great night and I think she got frustrated w/herself but she did start to clean it up late in the 3rd set and she was smiling after the win. I think she’s her harshest critic. I was really impressed watching Nani try to hype her up and try to keep her out of her own head.

So, then....maybe you sub her out against a Kentucky or Nebraska. Until then, you give her more reps to see how she responds and let her work it out. Coaching sometimes involves splitting the difference and playing the long game on things like that. Jerritt doesn't make knee-jerk decisions much anymore.

We can all see she’s struggling but I’m manifesting positive vibes for her rebound. The hitting is now where we expected, the setting is we’re we hoped it would be but the serving has been huge in their separation this year and she has been out most dangerous server. Going forward sets are won by 2,3,4 point runs and I’m expecting her to be part of that. ZERO teams have the Texas ceiling on serving. Jhenna has been our least effective server and she dialed it up.
