Texas beat Rice 25-14, 14, 14 earlier this season in Rice's home gym, but in the 2019 and 2020 seasons, Rice has beaten Texas in 5 twice. It's pretty much been the same group on both sides for this series too. Rice impressed in their sweep of San Diego while Texas looked shaky at times against Sacred Heart. Should be quite an interesting duel.

I'm still debating between keeping Crawford as my avatar for the Creighton match or switching it to Eggleston for manifestation powers.

Oh oops, well… I guess I have no need to watch Rice/San Diego now. My mistake for hoping on VT before watching all the matches. I can't tell whether this is in jest or not after my other comment if you're being serious sorry for the spoiler lol

Rice is a solid team, but eliminating Texas in Austin? No.

Texas went into several mental funks in the game against SH. The fact that Texas had 9 blocks to SH's zero was want kept us in the game. Can't have that against Rice with their much better block. Checking to see if Rice is one of the schools who played back-to-back conference games like Texas and I see they did. 6 of them plus 3 back-to-back conference games.
Maybe we'll catch them tired? Texas has usually done better the second day after some coaching adjustments.
Yesterday was the few times I saw Eric Sullivan, who usually talks to the team when we're ahead during a timeout, looking disgusted after walking away from the huddle talk.

Why were all the games on ESPN+ except Texas? It said Blacked Out yesterday. Today is just shows two options - Longhorn Network and ESPN3.

Love Rice, especially Graham! In saying that, I just don't think they have the firepower to pull this off. Just sad that last year was taken away from them as they were playing at a much higher level.

When we played them earlier in the season, they had three blocks against Texas and I think Texas had seven? The serving of Texas is what really disrupted Graham's ability to be flashy from the setting position. That was also probably the best passing I've ever seen from a Texas team as Rice isn't a great serving team. If Rice wants to stay in this match, they'll have to have all their hitters playing the best game of their lives, as well as Texas playing horribly. Even the two matches we lost to them (I think 2019 was 16-14 in the fifth and 2020 was 15-13 in the fifth), they were playing lights out and we were not playing well. I know the match in 2020, Parra was playing OH, with Fields playing on the right, as well as Iosia playing libero. It was a different line up. Crazy to think that this same line up went to Waco shortly thereafter and beat Baylor. I think last night's match was probably good for them because the lack of focus was obvious. I imagine they'll get up for this match and I'm hoping the rafters are PACKED. TF.

Rice is a solid team, but eliminating Texas in Austin? No. I mean San Diego had a chance in 2019, but Louisville got the job done the next weekend. I think Texas wins this one, but I don’t think it’s an automatic guarantee.
