Why were all the games on ESPN+ except Texas? It said Blacked Out yesterday. Today is just shows two options - Longhorn Network and ESPN3. what LHN wants LHN gets That is odd because I do not have the subscription to LHN and I was able to watch it just fine last night. |

Because it also gave the option to be able to view the match on ESPN3, apart from LHN, which personally, I have never seen them do. Hopefully they give that option again tonight because I do not want to miss this match |

Because it also gave the option to be able to view the match on ESPN3, apart from LHN, which personally, I have never seen them do. Hopefully they give that option again tonight because I do not want to miss this match I noticed this yesterday but was told it was something they always do? |

That is odd because I do not have the subscription to LHN and I was able to watch it just fine last night. I'm suspecting they aren't requiring the subscription to the sub-regional matches. |

I noticed this yesterday but was told it was something they always do? All ESPN TV channels, including LHN, can be streamed live on ESPN3 (WatchESPN). The kicker is that you must have access to that TV channel through your TV provider in order to have the streaming access. When you go to ESPN3, you must sign in with your TV provider ID and password. By the one poster above saying they watched the match on LHN last night and they don't have normal access to LHN, this seems to indicate that ESPN is letting non-subscribers watch the match free on LHN and also ESPN3. For all the other matches on ESPN+, was ESPN requiring a subscription or could you access it for free? Not every LHN broadcast is broadcast on ESPN3. There is a difference between ESPN3 and WatchESPN. ESPN3 used to be the name of the whole thing, but, ESPN3 is now like a separate broadcast channel in a way. Right now, Texas Football Encore: Texas Tech vs. Texas (2021) is on the LHN. That is not being broadcast on ESPN3. It is only on WatchESPN as LHN. If you go to the replay section from yesterday, there is an option to choose whether to watch the ESPN3 or LHN stream for the Texas vs. Colgate stream. If you don't have LHN, you must click the ESPN3 option in order to watch it. This will sometimes happen when matches are broadcast in Spanish. Say a match is on ESPNU or SEC Network but it also has an In-Spanish option on ESPN3. If you have access to ESPN/ESPN2 but not ESPNU or SEC Network, you can actually access the In-Spanish stream via ESPN3 but not the other streams. This loophole can help especially when matches are blacked out in your geographical area for whatever reason but there is an alternative ESPN3 stream available. To your last point, it's clear that this is being done for the NCAA Tournament only re: LHN. For the matches on ESPN+, you must have ESPN+ to watch, none of those matches are being broadcast through the ESPN3 channel. There are very few volleyball matches on just 'ESPN3'. Sometimes this will happen in the MAC I have noticed, and I think St. John's had a few ESPN3 matches as well. The overwhelming majority of non-TV matches are ESPN+ in the regular season. |

Yesterday, it gave me the option to watch on LHN or ESPN+. I have an ESPN+ account as well but I usually just go directly to the LHN channel to avoid any issues.

Yesterday during the game against SH. The folks in red, the SH friends/family cheering section. And then sometime after the game started, the showered and dressed Rice players came in. They left in the third set. It was odd. We thought at first they were San Diego players because they all seemed grumpy. As if they'd just lost a game - which is why we thought they were SD instead of Rice. Maybe they just wanted to get back to the hotel and coach was making them watch. |

Last night was the first time I've seen separate links for LHN and ESPN3 for any Texas telecast on LHN. From what you posted, am I reading it correctly that the ESPN3 link was for non-subscribers to LHN? If I'm reading you correctly, the matches on ESPN+ weren't "free" in the sense that you had to have a subscription to ESPN+. You are correct that ESPN+ and ESPN3 are not the same. Yep. I don’t know if the ESPN3 link was a curtesy or some requirement, but it was for non-LHN subscribers. I did not see an ESPN+ link for that match nor is it on replay, so I think the poster who said ESPN+ for the Texas match gave them an option, I think they confused that with ESPN3. |

I couldn't tell what was up with the Texas links last night as I couldn't get either one to work for me. Not sure what was the problem as I couldn't get it to move past the initial screen. Ended up having to flip channels between the Horns and the Cowboy game instead of streaming the VB game. There were no ESPN+ links for Texas-SH. |
