Wahine just got run over and manhandled by a Mack truck. I’m convinced that Cardi B foretold this match when she wrote the lyrics, “Park that big Mack truck right in this lil garage!” That was a force feeding by WA. Geez, keep it clean, buddy, this is a family site.

Disappointing effort by the Wahine.. Amber was the only one to show up tonight… I just don’t see how we improve next year unless players make HUGE progress in their games.. I really do hate to be negative but we are just not bringing in the recruits needed to compete at this level.. we may get by with winning the Big west but that’s it.. My sentiments exactly. As much as I agree with this, we all still need to remember how Washington was a final four team 8 months ago, but more importantly this damn Covid 19. Robin couldn't have predicted Helvig would not return or Rasmussen would not either. Also, although Hawaii players could have practiced on their own, Hawaii had restrictions for months in which no indoor or even outdoor gathering larger than 10. So they literally had August as day 1 of practice as a unit.

Sadly JMO, the Wahine program has been on a bit of a decline. Covid year didn't help it either. Coach Ang and Hanna leaving was a big blow. I like the new recruits but they're not seasoned or experienced and will need a few years to develop. I think waiting to see it come to fruition is painstakingly slow. We need IMPACT immediate players that can contribute from the get go. Hopefully we can get a couple of good transfers that wanna come to Hawaii.

Some of you Wahine fans are just brutal to these very young Freshmen players. You people talk like they are Juniors and Seniors, and should know better, and play better. Ikenaga, is a true Freshmen, she will learn, and get better. She has played better then a lot of Freshman Libero, that the Wahine ever had. As for Riley Wagoner, cannot wait to see how much she improves next year. She improved so much this year from her Freshman year, if she makes that kind of a stride in improvement next year, watch out. You can look at all the European players, all of them Freshmen, no D1 experience to speak of. Even the Sophomores. did not have much D1 experience, excluding Amber Igiede. This Wahine team will surprise a lot of people next year and the year after. Like I have mentioned all along, steps. First step, win the BWC Title, just get into the NCAA Tournament, gain the experience, which they accomplished. Next year, not only win the BWC Title again, but get to the Regionals. Finally, in 2023, the pay off year, Final Four, maybe even a National Championship, with some luck. I can see the Wahine hosting a 1st and 2nd Round next year, and quite possibly a Regional in 2023. This was a very good year, for a very young Wahine squad. Congratulation, Wahine Team for performing they way you did. Nothing to feel sorry, or down about after facing a veteran UW team. Each and every Wahine team member should congratulate each other for a season well played. I want to than each and every Wahine member for a season well done. Mahalo Nui Loa!!!!

Whenever this “on a decline” statement is made, i just want to ask, from what point? 2019 was NOT a “down” year and this year was a team full of underclassmen in major positions having dealt with all the many gut punches COVID-19 gave them, arguably more than any other NCAA team. The lack of faith and foresight from fans is more troubling to me than anything else…

Kapish?

I really think Robyn may have to consider moving Amber to the outside.. we need physicality at that position.. move Tiff back to the middle as she has shown no consistent terminating capabilities at opposite..

Yes! Immediate impact recruits who still have a high ceiling for improvement I really can't understand why top recruits wouldn't wanna be in Hawaii to play. The best fan base, weather, food, etc.. What's there not to like except Wahine fan. Ditto. Also that RAM has Olympic experience with recommendations coming from current and former players.

A left side hitter to be exact. And then a right side to claim that spot. But then again we worry about this same thing every year when there is a need. Disagree that the program is in decline. If anything this team over achieved on a year that was clearly a building year and one with out two key players that were not lost to graduation (Hannah and Jolie).
