The best Szechuan in town has a Japanese name? Pass. I swear it's delicious. And I'm often the only white person in there.

The best Szechuan in town has a Japanese name? Yes. I always thought of it as a "white people are stupid" joke - Ichiban = "first," and they were the first Szechuan restaurant in town. Taigu in Middleton is also really good Chinese. They do noodles. Their house cat ear noodles are my favorite. Taigu is excellent!

I was just over at the Field House. Surprised and disappointed to find out there is no open-practice this week. Don't know why; there certainly was last week, and I am 100% certain there was two years ago prior to 2nd weekend matches.

Hi Wisconsin folks—Gopher fan here, eavesdropping on your dining suggestions to gobruins 😊. We’re staying at the Best Western InnTowner, which is near the UW Hospital and about a mile west of the Field House. We would appreciate any dining suggestions in that direction. Also looking for things to do on Friday and Saturday, before the championship match (I’m keeping a positive attitude about still being in Madison at that point in time!🤞🏻). Thanks for any suggestions! I was just going to say Blue Moon. Really good, but, if memory serves, cash only, so be prepared for that.

Well damn Badger fans, now I want to come to the game! You're such a helpful bunch. ...except for Purdue fans. We want no more visits from Grace Cleveland, et. al. this year.

As to "cash only", I checked their website pretty carefully and didn't see any mention of that--but fortunately I visited the ATM today, so we should be set! Thanks so much for the info, everyone!

Oh, if you want some scenery on an InnTowner stroll, head north on Highland (under Campus Drive) about a mile north to see Lake Mendota. It's not frozen yet though, so no walking on it!

I liked the walk from the Intowner to the Field House. It takes you through some interesting neighborhoods. Also, there is some famous Frank Lloyd Wright architecture to see if you plan it well.

Thanks for the suggestion—we’ll be sure to check it out. My husband is an architect, so it’s definitely in his wheelhouse!
