What a nice time of year for the dawgs to be out of Seattle and in Austin. Doesn't get any better than this.

Much easier for friends and family to go from Fayetteville to Austin than flying cross country, probably.

I don't know if this is the reason but Arkansas and UT had a huge rivalry back in the Southwest Conference days, so maybe that's why EMP has wanted to play Texas for so long? Oh and yes probably friends and family can come to her games.

There is a historical animosity between college sports in Arkansas and the University of Texas. Back when Arkansas were in the Southwest conference, many gas stations would refuse to sell gas for cars with Texas plates who were driving back from Arkansas home football games in Little Rock or Fayetteville. And since you don't know about this rivalry, they would switch the college football games (representing the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville) between Fayetteville and Little Rock (to give those folks in Little Rock a chance to host).
Added: And it doesn't matter that this player was born after Arkansas left their rivalry with Texas, they're taught to hate Texas

You haven't fully lived until you drive through (or stop in) Texarkana.

Just about any place in the country is closer to Florida than Seattle is, except for Alaska or Hawaii.

Oh and yes probably friends and family can come to her games. We signed setter Hannah Allison out of Arkansas for the 2010 class. Other than that, haven't really recruited the state of Arkansas.
Not sure if Powell had an interest in coming to Texas in 2018, but we had signed Ashley Shook for 2017, and we probably weren't prioritizing a 2018 setter once Shook verbally committed.
