Has there been a press conference posted anywhere for Texas? I saw Nebraska’s but I’m interested to see what the Texas players have to say about the match Apparently it was removed from the texas volleyball website, they haven't posted it on youtube or anything as of this moment. I didn't get to see it so no idea what was said in there, to the point they had to remove it?

I saw a few comments in an article. Fields seemed to say they were particularly disappointed they couldn't get the NC for Butler and Peterson and felt like they had really put in a lot of work to build off their Spring tournament and get the job done so this stings a lot. Elliot mentioned Nebraska's defense and said they lost the serve/pass battle. That's all I got.

If I remember correctly last year Cook said the same thing to some effect. We knew we had to beat them in the serve pass game to have a chance. Texas served tough, Nebraska served tougher. Nebraska passed badly, Texas passed worse. Both teams gave their all. Texas just wasn’t good enough last night.

Can’t make that call on Eggleston late when you’ve let everything go so far — and worse throws at that. As for TX recruiting a libero, Iosia is a great recruit. Agreed. That call came out of the blue after it was let go for both nights in Austin. Tough true, but would it be any less of a jay walk if one doesn't get caught the first 15 times, though. one kinda has to take that risk when reaping the benefits

The earlier ones looked worse (from my sofa). So the ref, yes she probably messed up. But that one terrible call didn't make Texas pass like the ball was allergic to the setter. That's why Texas is going home early, not because that lady made a bad whistle.

You need players who can pass the ball Texas fans don’t seem to understand this and will defend the coach no matter what. Like how many more years until they demand more of the decisions the coaches make instead of trying to come after posters who a literally handing them the damn answer. Incredible talent isn’t working with the current coaching staff. What are we supposed to do?? Lmao 10 VT posters coming after Jerritt on a forum ain’t gonna do %*$# for a coach with as many accolades as him and as good of a record as he has. He probably has the most secure job in all of Texas athletics (except for Eddie Reese). The Texas thread is currently plenty of us talking about the passing and lack thereof.

Top 3 recruiting classes year after year yet Texas continues to under perform to its optimal potential. Wow. Jarrett Elliott what gives? Making it to the regional final is not a terrible season. Not terrible, no. But Texas had the weapons to go further so this was definitely an under performance for them…and let’s not forget that this was a team that “could medal in the olympics” (i still laugh about that one). The Texas hype year after year is just very funny to me

Good match. So happy my Huskers are going to Columbus. The fact that we are in the final four is incredible. If you said this in early October, I would have said NO WAY. Our offense always seems to go one way or the other. Either Kubik and Caffey are hot and the freshman are struggling, or the other way around. It's nice to know your offense is balanced so this can happen. Aaah I feel for Texas, they are a quality program. They are always so intimidating, reminds of the Brazilians, and so confident, so strong. The momentum was always on Huskers' side. Their ball control is so steady. See you next year Texas Longhorns, always an exciting team to watch and play against.

And to those saying, "you didn't call them earlier, it's unfair to call it at a crucial point in the match," that's like saying someone broke into your house three times, why'd you call the cops the fourth time. Except someone breaking into your house isn't a judgement call. The line between a throw and a legal play is. So on it makes sense that if the officiating crew has determined in their judgement that a particular play is legal, they shouldn't change that judgment 3/4 of the way through the game. the rules are stated in the rule book, and not created by some reliance interest. the players and fans ought to feel lucky on those plays that were not called, rather than be outraged by those that were.

Ok now that I’m less hyped and I got my mind back from last night lmfao, I have a few good things to say about Texas. I appreciated watching Eggleston and Fields all season, and they were still able to take some really hard swings and find some kills last night despite being put in terrible situations time and time again. Logan shows a lot of poise and I could tell she was really trying to fight for her team and rally them together. Anyways it was a super fun game to watch and I’m still shook we pulled out the upset in the way we did. Well said. Eggleston and Roddy are going to look stellar in Team USA uniforms.

i questioned the trade-off between setting and defense, and those questions were answered resoundingly by the huskers with a slap in my face. i have a great deal of respect for coach cook and his team. they overcame a favored opponent with brilliant game plans and execution. i came to respect and like Nebraska because of 2 losses they had. one against Penn St in the semi-finals during the latter's great run; the other a couple of years back against Stanford in the championship game. I had thought Nebraska had no business being competitive in those games and yet they almost pulled off the upsets. they didn't disappoint last night. now, madi's making every swing count mentality ....
