During post game comments on Nebraska radio, JB asked Tyler about some kurfuffle between the Nebraska coaches and the Texas coaches. Tyler said that Jerrod would "talk to them". Anyone know the details behind the fighting between the coaches? It looked like it had to do with the NU assistant constantly trying to work the ref, at some point JE walked to center and seemed to be saying something.

I think Logan Eggleston is amazing. She is so strong. I don't understand why she (and her coaches) continue to use something that is pretty unconventional. I know there are others that use the power tip, but man, hers are all her own. She contacts the ball longer than other players. Don't her coaches know that many feel it is illegal contact? The commentators talk about it, the other coaches talk to the officials about it, other outsides don't use it as much... It was bound to happen at one point or another! Why is the same conversation not being had about Caffey? She routinely slam dunks the ball. The NU staff did a good job of lobbying during the game, JE should have done the same with Caffey. Kayla Caffey did not have a good game, Texas was on her and looked like they trained for her quick attack. Who expected the freshman to have an awesome night. Anyway, Caffey does not usually throw anything, fast and clean is her game. This is the first time I've seen her do that push/throw as I've watched every match this year. Stivrins on the other hand, does it every game. Not too fond of the play but she has gotten away with it the BIG. If you gonna make the calls, be consistent with them is my motto.

Calling it now, Nebraska 3-1 over the Longhorns.... TX was lucky to escape tonight! "You CALLED IT" Lexi Sun played her part as a awesome team mate and cheered them on to a great victory

When Nebraska has this "three libero" rotation, who's in the front row? Kubic, Stivrins and Hames THREE hitters! GBR

I can't imagine what its like to play at Gregory. I feel like its one of the most hostile gyms for women's volleyball like BYU on the men's side.

Don't act like there's no such thing as a judgement call just because there are words in the rule book. If the throws had been called in the first set, then Eggleston likely would have adjusted. They were going to lose the first set either way, so one judgement call setting the precedent would not have changed the outcome. Coaches expect the first set to be used to dictate how ball handling will be called. Allowing it for 3.5 sets and then changing what is legal in the middle of the 4th set is wrong. As most people have agreed, that last one called was no worse than the previous ones that were not called. I'm not for or against throws being called tighter. I don't care. Just be consistent. It's disappointing that the doubles are called dramatically different based on who the R1 is, but as long as that R1 is consistent throughout the entire match, then both teams have a fair ability to know what they can get away with. I think Logan Eggleston is amazing. She is so strong. I don't understand why she (and her coaches) continue to use something that is pretty unconventional. The commentators talk about it, the other coaches talk to the officials about it, other outsides don't use it as much... It was bound to happen at one point or another! It scores. And no, most of hers are not any worse than other players. Plummer did it well at Stanford. Others do it well, too - probably more common from middles than from OHs and more common in the men's game than the women's game. If it's efficient, keep doing it. It's not her coaches' job to care that "many feel it is illegal contact" unless referees start calling it with more regularity.

I was wondering about this as I thought I caught something from watching on TV. I my opinion, there was some sort of tension. The taller assistant if that helps, he’s usually standing closer to the score keeper. Don’t know his name. He was clearly working the refs much of the game, it looked to me like JE finally got fed up with the ref entertaining his stoppage. I’m cross court so I can see it all, just can’t hear what’s being said of course.

Wait,I can read again! They both passed that low? Was it an all around bad game for everyone? Or did one or two player drag down both teams? Nebraska had a wide range. Freshmen hit 500 and 406. Stivrins and Caffey hit above the team average of 1.82. Kubik with 49 attempts brought down the team average with her .041. No hard feelings against Madi. Oh no, I was talking about passing numbers. I thought the team had a pretty great offensive match against that Texas block. I'm trying to see who was dragging down their passing stats.

The match was extremely intense, I don’t make too much of it but it looked like Cook had words with the assistant during a time out, he clearly was not happy about something with him. Have no idea about what, just like Jhenna clearly had words with JE after getting pulled. I think everyone figured that one out. The intensity was everywhere in the gymn.

That would have to be Tyler Hildebrand, and he always stands there because he is in charge of the defense and net play. He definitely isn't the first coach ever to work the referees, especially if they see repeated violations that go uncalled.
I am very skeptical that Jaylen Reyes was involved on a consistent basis, as he stands with the team watching the back court.
