No, it's all good. It was waiting for the bracket to be announced, I think, and somebody was "how can WI be a top 4 seed with a loss to Maryland?", like one bad night can negate a whole season. I think it's funny as much as anything. I totally think really-bad losses should always be forgiven or taken with a grain of salt when there is overwhelming evidence to negate that. Funky things happen. That year where Baylor beat #1 Wisconsin and lost to UTRGV the very next match is one example. "Funky things happen" - Wisconsin was up something like 10-7 in the 5th that night with the exact six players you'd want on the floor, and somehow Maryland ran off eight straight. Snowball rolling downhill, turned into an avalanche

They were hugging Rice at the end of their match couple weeks ago so try again 🙂 When they won... They were happy they finally beat the little school that could.

It was a big miss on the counter challenge for the centerline violation IMO. It was in the action of playing the ball and a hitter was coming down from an attack, no? You cannot challenge center violations, so there's that. Then the refs !!!!###$$$!!!ed up.

Despite what partisans say, I'm really impressed by the officiating in a match this close and at such a high quality. Absolutely. Busboom Kelly and Eddie Haskell were very quiet.. end of story

Wisconsin showed real fight in this match, especially at the ends of sets. Set 1: Trailed 19-20 after a 4-0 run by Louisville. Won 25-23. Set 2: --Louisville dominated-- Set 3: Trailed 17-19, but closed out the set with an 8-2 run, winning 25-21. Set 4: Trailed 18-20, fought back to take a 21-20 lead before losing 25-23. Set 5: Trailed 5-6 (would have been 6-7 if not for the hair/net call against Robinson that was overturned), but went on a 10-3 run to win 15-9.

Louisville was amazing and I really wish they could have on. Imo that right there was the national championship match, those are the two best teams in the tournament, I don’t think anyone could’ve beat Louisville playing lie, that besides wisco

That said, Smrek, Orzol, Robinson, and Demps returning. Saw glimpses of greatness from Jardine and incoming Wrobel is lethal. Hammill and Ashburn are both great setters. Most importantly, Danielle Hart will be back, hopefully healthy. Wisconsin just needs some help in the backcourt (ahem, portal). Hart, Robinson, and Smrek will be a load to deal with, especially if Hart can come back at the level she was playing at earlier this year, and if Smrek can take a step forward like she flashed @nebraska and tonight. The biggest question is if MJ Hammill can step into the setter position. She had a great game in her one opportunity to start last year @minnesota, but haven’t seen much of her since. Who is the libero next year? Not sure if Ashburn, Boyer, or someone from the transfer portal could step into that role.

Boyer, A Mac, Orzol as someone here suggested (Bates did it for a year), transfer portal? Wrobel will help in some way, and I love Jardine's upside too.
