Ally doesn't even need to go over the block.. Most of her success against Texas was from tooling really well. When she gets a ball high enough, she can... When its low and she has to drop her arm/rush her swing... she gets blocked, a lot. I mean tooling Gabriel and tooling ndee are different things but I get your point I dont think she was even tooling Gabriel that much. The ones I remember were Brionne and Asija. I feel like Kubik was paired with Jhenna more, but idk.

NE is a young team starting 3 freshman. They have been improving as the season progressed. So the 7 losses don't mean much. NE optimism is based in part on improving play by the freshman hitters Batenhorst and Krause. Will they continue to perform at recent levels? We'll find out Thursday night. If they don't, there is Sun and Laenstein that are also very capable. Also NE has the best back row defense in the country IMO, including freshman Rodriguez, who makes unreal digs to the setter box and is also a very good OOS setter. So what you're saying here, is that Nebraska relies heavily on freshman, which tend to get "schooled" by older and more experienced opposing players, like Pitt has. Yeah, like the more experienced Texas hitters and blockers “schooled” them? The fact is these freshman are in the final four because they earned it. While I don’t know who will match up with Member-Mene, when she was at Missouri in 2018 she played Nebraska in the second round and did get some kills, but I remember her getting blocked repeatedly and more importantly, she was hit over, through and around. I am sure she is a better player now, but she isn’t any taller. I like any of the Nebraska OH who show up facing her across the net. I also like the match-up between the coaching staffs, a substantial advantage to Nebraska. We’ll see how it goes.

LMM has gotten sooooooo much better at Pitt, and a substantial advantage in coaching staffs means you don't know much about Dan Fisher and his staff- they are very very good (as is John Cook and his staff)

Wouldn’t just call that “some kills” she’s also an excellent blocker especially given her size. Not to mention her considerable improvement at Pitt compared to mizzou

I expect everyone at Pitt to be glued to this game. After all, basketball just lost to Monmouth (aka mbb sucks), Heisman ceremony is over, and the bowl game is weeks away. This is where it's at!

She doesn’t know what she’s talking about Uhm when did Batenhorst say she could go over the Pitt block? She didn't.

She didn't. My original quote was from a Nebraska fan who said Batenhorst was going to hit over Pitt's block. Not that Batenhorst said it herself.

Haven't really seen much of Pittsburgh other than playing Purdue this weekend, Nebraska leads 13-0 h2h. I hope the Panthers play their best game and hope Huskers remain cool and calm. GO BIG RED !!! Purdue was 11-0 all time before this weekend vs Pitt These are both rather meaningless stats. The last time Pitt played Purdue played before this tournament was 2013, Fischer's first year at the helm of the Panthers. Only 3 losses are recorded in this listing so the other 8 were either a long time ago - or the 11-0 citation is inaccurate. pittsburghpanthers.com/sports/womens-volleyball/opponent-history/purdue-university/109 And Nebraska has only defeated Pitt once in the Fischer era (2015) and one other time in the rally scoring era (2002). The last previous meeting was in 1994. So history between these teams should be thrown out the nearest open window.
