The schedule looks great, hats off to Hugh for always scheduling so tough. Neb and Wis should take some notes🫢 To play devil’s advocate, both Nebraska and Wisconsin have a huge incentive and pressure to maximize home games in ways most volleyball programs do not. I’m also not sure I’d want to be the guy making a living by telling Cook and Sheffield what they’re doing wrong regarding their scheduling and how they could improve it. They seem to be doing pretty good. That said, I’m glad Minnesota is aggressive with their scheduling. Certainly one of the elite programs in the country.

I’m slightly sad we aren’t playing St.Thomas just because it was fun…but not great for RPI or player development.

One of the few (maybe the only) women's programs to do so. The Athletic department has a vested interest in playing a majority of their non-conference schedule at home. Wisconsin expanded their fan base to 7000 plus so I'm curious how close they are to break even. And the Gophers are right there. 5000 plus and aren't they putting in luxury boxes? With more B1G Network exposure and the sport gaining popularity, it wouldn't surprise me to see a handful of B1G volleyball programs start making money in a few years.

I'm not seeing how their situations differ from someone like Minnesota. I was thinking of their massive attendance figures, but you're right. Minnesota at over 5k per game is one of the nation's leaders as well. When that many people want to see your games, it creates pressure to play at home. That was my point, even if it's not a good comparison with Minnesota.

Ooooh that looks like a fun Diet Coke Classic! Top 3 WCC team and a Rubright reunion. It’s been a few years since the Gophers have invited non-local teams. Three matches in the state of Texas in under a week. Wenaas’ family is happy about that I bet! Will the Gophers just camp out in Texas for the week? Would save on airfare but I guess lodging could get pricey. I like this new look for the Diet Coke Classic! Yes, it will be great to have 2 competitive matches instead of the usual cupcake and maybe one decent team. Will also be nice to see Shea have a return to the PAV.

Saw that Wisconsin charged for spring schedule. Minnesota could make more money by charging students. Moving some games to Williams arena. Also increase their season ticket price Would be curious what Nebraska season tickets prices are.

I attended two of the four Wisconsin spring matches, and was too late to register for the FREE tickets to the other two. Wisconsin did not charge for any of their spring matches. Yes there were tickets, and yes three of the four were "sold out" but there was no charge for those tickets. (The fourth was the only one held at the Field House in Madison, and for that one, there were no tickets or registration at all.)

I’m slightly sad we aren’t playing St.Thomas just because it was fun…but not great for RPI or player development. Agreed. I'm not sure at this point, who the game would be fun for. It wasn't that much fun to watch and I doubt it was a ton of fun for either team to play. Hoping that the competitive gap between the two teams will lessen over time.

If my experience is typical, a chairback season's ticket cost $270, with all the charges tacked on. I wonder whether any team, other than Nebraska, and including Wisconsin, charges anything close to that.

For 2021, season ticket prices for Wisconsin VB was $100 for 'prime reserved' (center court, maybe the first 20 rows), $85 for 'reserved'(other sideline sections, farther up, and center court above prime reserved), and $60 for 'general' (the rest, and all of the upper deck). 'Youth' and 'Senior' general admission for $30, and a four-ticket 'family' general admission for $125.

It is my understanding that Hugh prefers The Pavillion than moving volleyball to Williams Arena. This statement is from a comment made to me one time on campus from one of the Assistant Volleyball Coaches.
Are Gopher fans thinking, if we had a larger facility for Volleyball with more seating availability, possibly season ticket prices would go down?

Does having season tickets give you tickets to the pre-season matches? First time season ticket holder here!

Just booked sun airlines roundtrip msp to dfw for 194 dollars leaving Friday morning returning Sunday. It's the only straight through flight. Now a car and hotel room. I can taste that Texas barbeque. Served with a side of Baylor and TCU. Any one know where the gophers stay?
