Y’all. We are down 17-8.
This is bad.

That may have been one of the worst sets I’ve seen in the past 10 years.

Is this coaching staff capable of implementing any sort of adjustments other than just subbing constantly? The constant subbing and alternating of players mid sets is only showing they have no pulse on the players or the team.
We are young, yes, but this is bad.
Also, they are hitting the balls to the exact same spots on the court and our defense will not make an adjustment. Slow the game down, tell the players to slow it down between serves. Do something.

By a team in the Big Sky. It’s one thing to lose to a possible tournament team, but with this much talent, we should not be overmatched by hardly anyone, let alone a team from the Big Sky. Just overmatched thus far...

I know I can't really speak for UNC as I don't follow them too closely, but I just want to say that Northern Colorado (and CSU) are fairly experienced teams this year playing multi-year starters. Both teams are expected to content or win for their conference crowns.
UNC is crazy athletic, I think the team just needs to gel a bit, and they should be very good!

There doesn't seem to be any resistance on defense. Block is no existent. NoCo just getting whatever they want.

We are being out hustled, out played, out schemed, and out coached.
NoCo is hitting .450 right now. .450! We are hitting .158.

Oooof... total destruction.
That's a match you just toss in the memory bank garbage and never speak of it again.
Yuck.

I think somebody set the clocks back to 2018. Haven't seen as disastrous of a match since then. This might end up being a looong season...

We just need humbling and time to gel....
The freshmen setters are def freshmen...you can see the individual talent but we arent nearly a team yet. Next 2 weekends are at home so hopefully we get back to the drawing board and more reps will lead to the team developing more.
Its gonna take time with this much inexperience...

I don’t buy all of that. This is a top 10 recruiting class and three preseason All-ACC performers. Every year there are teams that do better with a lot less.
Yes, we’ll get better as the season goes, but there is no excuse for getting absolutely waxed by Northern Colorado. We didn’t even get to 15 points in two of the three sets and the defense looked just as lost as our football team’s defense right now.
Losing to Colorado State is understandable, but we looked horrible in that match, too.
