Ineffective after years and toxic culture....sound familiar That's a colorful way of describing a coach telling black kids they're going to get hung in a tree with a noose.

When I say good I mean not a perennial tournament team, but historically a once every 3 to 4 year type of team. If by this you mean "15 tournament appearances in the last 23 years," then yeah. Or, put another way, missed the tournament 7 of the last 16 years and outside of one good 3 year run, never made it past the 2nd round.

They didn't say that, though, did they?

They didn't say that, though, did they? Missing 7 out of 16 years is certainly "not a perennial tournament team", which is what they literally said. They also said they were "historically a once every 3 to 4 year type of team". Considering they have not made it past the 2nd round outside of a single 3 year run, that is actually being pretty generous.

I would really like to see UNC actually develop a player and the team for 4 full years - where seniors are strong and confident and underclassmem are happy to learn and get a bit of court time. Where no one is made promises and no one transfers in or out and the culture is one of Learning, everyone getting better and gelling as a team. Where if you are having a bad match someone will go in for you with confidence and you don’t resent that. And where every played could confidently step on the court and do their role if your a starter or not. Where athletes are appreciated for the many hours they put in and they know they are getting better and will at some point get a chance to play and maybe win some games. Where people who yell at other players on the court get benched and people who don’t work hard in practice don’t get to play. Is that too much to ask? Probably, but we can always dream 🤣🤣🤣 Exactly how I see it too. Promise freshmen or grad transfers court time to recruit, toxic players on court (infighting), toxic players threatening to leave if no court time, players on court having bad games and being allowed to stay on court, not developing players seniors (Howard, Austin, Peck, Diaz). Seniors get the shaft and we cycle thru chasing the next best recruit to play over underdeveloped seniors…. Terrible strategy and lack of control

Terrible strategy and lack of control I remember Joe said in the recruiting article back in 2019, as an example, that Skyy Howard would be "an immediate impact player in the ACC and nationally." Did she have that potential? ABSOLUTELY. You can still see it. However, the coaching staff failed to develop her. Point blank. Empty promises. Until the culture is cleaned up and the players develop, its hard to see us going anywhere even with tons of talent.

It’s sad how much talent came to UNC and either left or never got developed to make a difference at the college level. But the fact that players demand playing time or players being disruptive and egotistical is the biggest problem we have. Coaches tolerating that creates an unhealthy and toxic culture. Couple that with Susan’s bad deeds and we are way down in the hole in every aspect. I hope UNC admins will read this thread, perform their own assessment, and make proper decisions for the good of the underperforming program and players. Yes, we are going nowhere until we change our culture and get coaches who will hold players accountable.

She switched to beach because she deemed it safer given concussions but still.....I think she would have left anyway because she was not impressed with Susan the few weeks they did practice. Good list put together and goes to show that the program is not sustaining any kind of consistency in developing players and creating a stable culture. Its time for a change but we all know admin isnt going to give us that.

I thought there was no broadcast? I saw we took set one pretty handily and had leads in each set but, as usual, faltered. Anything crazy go down?
