Kenzie Koerber 3rd Team? ? Nope. Happy to see Drews on the 1st team. Kenzie should be at least 2nd team. I mean BYU was LITERALLY one point away from the Elite 8. And they get one player, and she’s on the 3rd Team.

What if Cook had started her in every set the first weekend of play, but then subbed her out after the first point? Technically she'd be eligible then. He easily could have done that if he wanted to make sure she was eligible for these awards. Maybe he wasn't willing to do that because he didn't want to send the message that individual awards are important enough to waste a sub, but another coach might be. I suppose the fact that I can't come up with any instance of this actually happening means it's not much of a concern. #WE/me

Skylar fields was robbed. Bye. Third Team feels appropriate (at best) for a 3-rotation OH, who doesn't serve or pass, with 3.5 kills/set. I mean, it's more generous than they were for Allie Barber...

I like how they didn't base everything on stats (unlike other selections). Kayla Caffey, Kayla Lund, etc. may not have the stats but are instrumental to their team.
Did they get everything right? Probably not, but I think it took courage to just not go by stat lines and look at overall contributions to the team.

With stats like that? Yes. Her stats are lower in every category except sa.. Of the four highlighted, she's highest in service aces, 2nd in blocks, 3rd in hitting percentage, and 4th in KPS (by a nose). And she made it farther (and was a beast this weekend). And that's just of those four.

I think the bigger complaint is using a single-elimination tournament to primarily measure "team success." This is my issue as well. I saw some comments about Penn State, how can they deserve AA's by only making the 2nd round? Well, I want to say that Penn State had a more successful postseason in terms of quality of play rather than a team like Florida. Not all paths are created equal, obviously. It's just flawed. Florida beat a Miami-FL team that is frankly not as good as their RPI leads one to believe. So, beating them at home doesn't stand out to me. Penn State however, had to play a Top 4 seed in the 2nd round. Florida got to play a Top 4 seed in the 3rd round and got demolished. PSU lost 1-3 (22-25, 25-23, 22-25, 23-25) Florida lost (16-25, 22-25, 12-25)

If the question is, "which libero were you most impressed by in the B1G?" I would easily say Hampton. "Who is the most impressive hitter in the country?" See: Jordan Thompson. Not saying team success should have no weight, but we should certainly take into account that good players on good teams are helped by their teammates, and good players on worse teams are likely dragged down by their teammates... and still shine!

I think it’s a lot of respect for the completeness of her game. I’m happy people recognize that. Also most important player on her team that’s in FF She hit: <100: Ariz St, Utah, Louisville, Maryland, Indiana, Texas 100-200 Colgate, K-State, Creighton, Iowa, Purdue, Wisc, Minn, Penn St, Wisc, Fl St 200-300 Georgia, Northwesten, Mich St, Penn St, Rutgers, Iowa, Illinois, Purdue, Campbell, Illinois >300 Omaha, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio St Don’t think she played against Stanford, can’t remember if injury or the freshman playing (which would be another knock) I get her all round game and value to the team, but with that hitting to make 3rd team AA I hope she’s driving the bus and washing the jerseys too. Maybe she will come out and hit 400 in a win over Pitt, who knows. I agree. Huge Kubik fan and I think she could have been 2nd team for her overall contributions but 3rd team is honestly understandable. I remember Sun had better stats than Kubik in 2019/2020 and was still given 3rd team honors both years. In general Nebraska doesn’t rely on a single player that much so it can be hard for players to have a high KPS (probably the most looked at stat).

I know they got bounced 1st Round but I’m a little surprised that Taylor Wolf didn’t at least get onto the 3rd team.
.300/2.86 kps/5.41 aps/.28 SA/2.81 dps/3.44 pps With 8 triple doubles on the season
