On another note: Texas needs more seats, somehow someway. I don’t know if Gregory can be retro fitted or there’s a way to play Moody - I’m sure someone here knows. I get how historical Gregory is and I consider myself so freaking lucky to be able to go to that gym - but we’re at capacity more frequently and there’s simply no way to keep increasing crowds - and it sure looks like there’s been a need for it. Is volleyball the most successful sport at Texas, ever? (Insert Rodney Dangerfield meme). Jerritt has been adamant that he doesn’t want to play in Moody until we would sell it out on a regular basis. Greg is just too much of a home court advantage. Unfortunately have no idea where more seats could go. We’re packed to the rafters in there—literally

Here is how It will be called by haters. "They should have won it with all that talent" or "With all that talent they still lost due to per coaching." Between a rock and a hard place or Damn if you do damn if you don't. Have I missed any of the cliches. Literally they’re gonna have something negative to say either way it goes😵💫 even if they don’t mention the transfers, “I can’t wait until everyone has used up their covid eligibility” is going to be the next thing on the list Screams from the haters got a nice ring to it I guess every superhero need his theme music

I was thinking about this, I wonder if there is a way to like put bleachers where the openings are on both sides of the student section bleachers. they could curve and connect to the bleachers that sit behind the end lines. (I've actually really planned this out💀) so ik someone is going to say that's how people come and go, so to deal with that they could put a "tunnel" entrance within those bleachers

Watching old Parra tape (COVID szn) to see her hit from the backrow and she looks comfortable hitting from there and we all know her passing has been really good when given the chance. Two things I’m thinking from this:
1.) If we get another little, there will be a bloodbath for backrow play. Both Skinner and Parra are going to want to play six rotations. Skinner has wicked backrow attacks but her defense left much to be desired. Parra has the passing, and looked much improved on defense in her games this year, but isn’t as dynamic as Skinner back there (although y’all, she was good when she actually got set back there in Spring 2021! I don’t know why in the world we didn’t use her more last year from there). And then of course, none of Halter, Akana, and possible extra little are going to want to ride the bench. I dont want to suggest a player should transfer, but if Skinner is the “franchise player” Elliot says she is, then Parra needs to have a heart-to-heart with Elliot regarding his thoughts on her playing six rotations. She’s shown she has what it takes and she deserves to be able to do it somewhere. There’s not THAT much time left before she’ll want to go pro. Playing three (or possibly zero) rotations another year isn’t going to help that dream.
2.) If we don’t get another little, or we’re okay with one of baby spice/Akana/potential new little riding the bench for a year, we do not need to be running the same speed of offense we are this year. It would honestly be silly to do so. Madi likes higher sets, Parra from these clips I’m seeing actually struggles a lot when the set is low, and we’re going to have a true freshman (most likely) at setter. This was fun, but even we see some of the issues sometimes with a fifth year setter and outside running it.
That’s it. Thank you for coming to my bored Ted Talk.

As much as it would kill me to see her in another uniform besides Texas, that is the one person I will be monitoring once the season is over. Like you said it not like she can't play defense or pass (I think being a DS for a year really helped her get comfortable in that area) and even the back row attacks she had one early in the year against Denver and got a kill so she has the capabilities. I feel like he has the confidence in her to be able to contribute because if he didn't then she wouldn't be the first sub off the bench when skinner is in a rough patch. I actually think that the speed of the set isn't the problem, but rather the height. If she can get a set that has good tempo and enough height for her to tool and work around the block that is gold for her. I always rewatch the first set against UC Davis and even on the sky balls that were hit to her they had so much power behind them. Even if you watch some of the sets she got when she was playing for the Mexican national team they were pretty high ball sets and she still terminated. Also I think the faster offense does not really work for us because SKT isn't the best if it is not a 3-point pass.

did anyone notice Sunderland and how hard it was for him to pick Texas. Wonder why he has a dislike for us. I said this in the preseason and everyone thought I was crazy! I said it before and I’ll say it again. Paul Sunderland has it out for Texas and I don’t know why. I guess it comes with the territory🤐

On the flip side, I enjoyed Emily a lot more when she wasn’t forced to kowtow to the B1G teams. I know it’s her job, but still… I’m afraid Paul is a lost cause.

Nobody wins titles because you’re due. I also find it funny when people say Texas bleeds points, which is not an untrue statement but everyone went to 5 except Texas. I guarantee if your went 5 sets you bleed some points somewhere in that match.

I don’t think he dislikes us I would say he’s an Asija/Jermaine O’Neal homer but not Texas. 😂 He takes too many passive aggressive potshots at Texas that I don’t hear for other teams to call him a Texas homer.

Watching Stanford lose that 5th set and end their season on 5 straight San Diego serves after taking a commanding early lead didn't feel like bleeding. It was more of a decapitation.

So if we could throw someone in the back of a van and transfer portal them, who would we want? Inspired by Hambly saying he wouldn’t trade Miner or Oglevie for anyone. I certainly wouldn’t trade Fleck for anyone, but I’ve never been good at judging setter play since it’s the only position I never played. Who would we kidnap if we could? (No disrespect to SKT) Edit: Paul also said we had a big upgrade at setter this year. Would we say SKT is a better *setter* than Jhenna, or is her main advantage that she’s taller? Although I have noticed her getting our hitters 1-on-1s when the passes are good. Edit edit: also what setter would we grab if we could get a time machine? Honestly, if I had a van and immunity from kidnapping? I'd be taking Choboy. It's been an amazing season with Fleck and the littles scrapping back there. I do *not* want to go back to the dark days.

I’ve always thought she’s pretty good but the 24/7 B10 infomercial is what’s holding her back. Freed of that ball and chain she has good takes. 😂

People in the Minnesota thread seem to think Wenaas is going to transfer. I know we have a plethora of pins next year, but I really think she fills a need of defense/passing. I hope the staff at least gives her a look if the rumors turn out to be true.
