Does anyone know if there was a team intro video? In past years the schools had vids where the players introduced each other, etc.
I didn't watch the pregame show, was it there?

Should we start posting on the 2023 thread so the false thread…the pretender…isn’t the only new thread front page?

Should we start posting on the 2023 thread so the false thread…the pretender…isn’t the only new thread front page? I'm NOT done talking about the 2022 squad/season! But, for those ready to talk about the future 2023 squad, the other thread would make sense for that.

Have to give a big shout out to David Hunt. As you recall, he was officially hired in May after the conclusion of the Pepperdine men's season. Having to move to a new city/state to start a new job and revert back to being an assistant coach instead of the head coach had to present certain individual adjustments. Having to integrate with new staff members and a team full of players of a different gender had to be challenging. Having to deal with unexpected and possibly abrupt homelife issues had to be stressful.
As for what he contributed to the team as the offensive coordinator, well maybe someone else can point out the differences he implemented. I recall someone stating that Texas ran either its practices or match warmup sessions like a men's program. I was assuming that it was due to Hunt's influence, but perhaps we've always done that and I wasn't aware of it. I forget if he has the title of recruiting coordinator, but he does seem to be the staff member who is most active out on social media. Curious to hear thoughts about his contributions this season. I know the TV analysts mentioned in the post-match coverage that Saige indicated how much Hunt had helped her, but I forget the specifics.

I want to say they specifically talked about location and confidence in how he helped her but I was mildly euphoric at that moment so idk😂

I believe he's responsible for some of the rotations where ppl hit where they are- Molly left, Molly middle, Logan and Madi right etc. JE mentioned that at Point Texas, IIRC.

My daughter was on a road trip with her Mom to Southern Kansas to visit mother in the tiny-dot of a town. They arrived to the motel about 30 minutes before the game started and were relieved to find that the motel cable had ESPN2. My daughter is in college and for away games, my wife and I watch the Longhorns on ESPN+ and my daughter does as well in her apartment and we call each other and just talk during the game. You hear lots of "get up! get up!" from my daughter. And you hear a lot of "keep it in the court! Jeezus!" from me. She doesn't read VT, but I give her updates of the highlights. This one was late at night while I was scrolling through the love/hate postings after the Horns won:

Of all the players, I was surprised to see that Asjia had the most tears on the floor.
She's got a fairly cool demeanor on the floor and is coming back for the bonus year, so it surprised me she was so emotional at the win. But hell yeah baby!
