If I did a season stat wrap up (FOR STATS OTHER THAN PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE), would y’all want anything other than passing?

I want to talk more about what a great freshman campaign Emma Halter had in 2022. Nobody surprised me more with their play; perhaps I didn't set my expectations high enough. Really hope she's happy at Texas and wants to continue being a Longhorn despite being far away from home.
Now, about those one-armed stabs she's shown all season. Is that a "new" thing or have I just not been paying attention? Do/did any of our other backrow players have that tendency?

Anyone else notice the TV cameras catching a glimpse of Madi's Dad, Brian Skinner in the stands last night? It was brief, and don't think Holly or Courtney said a peep about him and perhaps didn't even know who he was. First time I've seen the TV cameras zoom in on him; had wondered all season if he had attended any matches at Gregory.

I’m thinking about taking my mom down but she can’t walk a ton. Do you know what’s the best chance at close parking?

I’m thinking about taking my mom down but she can’t walk a ton. Do you know what’s the best chance at close parking? The street in front of fountain is a public street. You could drop her off and then try for curb parking that runs perpendicular to that street where they have churches along that street. Worse case you park in the lot next to Jester dorm? I have to figure this out myself!

One of the tricks I used to pull is give people a ride to their car and then take their parking spot. Don't know how well that would work in this day and time, though.
But one of my life maxims is, don't follow someone else when you're looking for a parking spot. Words to live by.

Well, there SHOULD be less control. Her control on those one armed bandit hits is phenomenal.

Look at all of us talking about how elite the Texas SR and passing is. 😆 I love it. Nothing trolls the haters harder than good passing from Texas.

something that I was thinking while Texas was playing in the tournament was how we faced opponents who had really good block statistics, ranking in the top 50 (Georgia, San Diego, Louisville), and how in the final four, (per NCAA stats) we were the team with the least amount of blocks per set. Just thought it was really interesting and how our own stats for blocking really went up in the tournament, and our opponents blocking, while a factor, was not as big of a factor as I thought it would be. I mean even in the final, we outblocked Louisville 9-4. So impressive and shows how our hitters were being covered really well and swinging smart

Hitters didn't feel a need to take a huge rip at every ball, because they had confidence the floor defense would give them another good whack at it. But the block coverage was absolutely insane at times. I also found the comments during the finals interesting, about the Louisville coaches putting blue tape at the net to show where the Texas attacks came from, because they were unusual compared to other teams. joetrinsey talked about it in his conversations about the matches. Much of it was behind a paywall, but the portions that weren't talked about taking swings a little further in than normal to give the hitters better angles. Which is exactly what Texas has done this year. There's also the fact the serves were putting opponents off balance with regularity, while Texas more frequently hit in system. Especially in transition. Texas might not get the kill with a specific hit, but it was a good enough attack it put the other team off balance, which allowed Texas to take advantage of an in system attack after the ball came over. Again, a lot of that came from Joe Trinsey's analysis, where he identified UT's transition attack as the biggest difference maker in the tournament matches.
