I can't find if Wrobel will be here in the spring? I did notice this again "She’s one of the few attackers that may hit better from the back-row than the front-row" which is interesting given Demps' success. Maybe work in even more back row stuff.

I haven’t seen any indication that she’s graduating early.

Nope, Ella is a true loyal Sports Performance kid... When the top recruit in the country, Taylor Landfair, left in late fall a few years ago before her senior club campaign it was tough on the club and her 18's team as they were gunning for multiple national championships in graduating class.
The fact athletes feel pressure to leave early now and transfer at a whim does not sit well with me -- these are kids, they should enjoy their senior year and all of the spring activities (prom, graduation, senior field trips, etc), and the last semester with long time teammates and peers.
I don't see the benefit of "come in the spring to you train early and mesh with the team and learn the system" -- sure didn't work well for Landfair. Orzol and Smrek came in late summer... they did just fine, B1G FPOY and NCAA Finals MVP respectively.

It's as much about adjusting to life in college as it is meshing with the team, but I get your point.

I don't see the benefit of "come in the spring to you train early and mesh with the team and learn the system" The short time Hilley spent with Carlini was noted as being very beneficial. Maybe it’s not always the case, but it can be helpful.

The two major situations I can think of is something like the situation of Hilley, who was expected to be the starting setter of a top ten team as a true freshman. I believe graduating early to get a jump on her academics, train with the strength staff, and learn under LC was her idea/plan. Or like in Robinson's situation, when she came in to learn a new position that she was expected to start at day 1. But I totally respect a kid like Wrobel who wants to dance with the one that brung her (so to speak) and finish out her senior year with her high school and club friends and teammates. Besides, SPVB is playing such high-level ball that she's not exactly going to whither on the vine playing her 18s season.

Sometimes HS just sucks though. Come on, that last semester was a waste.
Or as was said in "Almost Famous".. "there's padding in the grades"
"I'm 11! 11!"

I agree in this instance Carlini helped tremendously with Hilley getting her ready for that fall season. As a former HS teacher I have to say that a minority of the seniors partake in the "senior" activities. Most are just finishing credits and are ready to move on. That senior year holds nothing for a gifted students whether it be athletic or academic. It's a shame club coaches are using the "loyalty" card to hold them back. Just wish them the best and move on. Sure those championships make the clubs money as they can charge more but its part of the reality now and they should learn to work with it. BTW, Samedy stayed to play with her team and did just fine as a freshman - that's an example that would work for your point; the others didn't.
