One thing I noticed when watching the welcome home party on streaming was half the comments were something like "take off your masks.". Maybe they were trying to protect people not in the travel party?? I doubt the AD traveled with them, for one. ?? In person, I didn't hear any comments about masks at all. And I don't recall anyone taking their mask off; to the contrary, I recall noting that everyone on stage was wearing masks and kept them on throughout. Photos easily available confirm that recollection for me. By comments, do you mean those commenting on YouTube? (This was in Dane County, and Dane County has an active mask mandate for public gatherings; just renewed again yesterday.)

Did we, though? Or was the game Ground Zero? I was speaking, very strictly, about the game being played. Based on people's descriptions of the AVCA convention and Nebraska's report, it was clearly a spreader. But in terms of not having a 2020 women's hockey season and never seeing the national championship game happen, we got the game in without a bevy of positive tests Thursday, Saturday morning, etc. Clearly had the game been today it would not likely be happening. AFAIK the NCAA just didn't test anyone involved with the tournament. Can't cancel due to COVID if you're not looking for COVID.

That was my guess too. "well, everyone is here now, don't want repeat of 2020 MBB"

Hot take -- Crawford won't contribute much next year.
Devyn is too good, Smrek had a breakout tournament and will only get better, and even if Hart doesn't return to form, I don't see Sheffield starting her over Crawford, at least at the start of the season.
Wrobel has played some opposite for SPRI during her career and looks very good there. Could easily see her doing that at UW and playing 6 rotations.

does Wohlert not have a chance to play. Can't believe you can have a 6'7" player on the bench though I know it's all about what height you actually play at etc

I don't understand your I don't see Crawford starting over Hart" statement. If Hart isnt better than Crawford, for health or otherwise, Crawford starts. He's not going to be sentimental just because he has a sixth year player. Also, maybe you had some pronoun troubles in there too.

“I told coach Sheffield that I’m not afraid of the challenge,” Crawford said. “I love to grind. So I’m excited to get in the gym with all those girls. Someone said that iron sharpens iron, so I think the people I’ll be surrounded with will push me, and I’m excited for that.”
You love to hear it.
