\We have basically two sophomores on the pin, as well as a freshman and a Junior at OH. I'd love a big time sconnie recruit, but I bet the unwillingness to pull the trigger in 8th grade may have poisoned her view of the badgers. At least that is the impression we got at the time on this board. Could be Houk gets this job, but I'm interested to see if a women gets it. With Hart graduating, we need a middle. Yeah, that's my point. Not seeing the calls for Wucherer to come home having any hope of coming true. Ship has sailed. You are thinking of someone else, I imagine.

I'm most interested in what McKenna Wucherer decides. Brookfield, WI native who only went to Minnie b/c of Hugh. She'd be a steal of the transfer pool. That was my first thought too, but where is she gonna fit in next year or, if she stays one more year and decides she doesn’t like the new coach, she comes in 2024? Aren’t we pretty stacked the next 2 years? I would think that potential 2024 & 2025 incoming freshman recruits is probably more likely to be targeted than anyone on the current roster.

I agree with you entirely. We're already stuck with an OH logjam that Ella can't even find playing time, and no other hitters are graduating next year. Let's hope Minnie resolves their coaching quandary quickly, keeps as many of their players as possible, and above all else, keeps the talent within the B1G.

After looking at the Big 10 W-L records after 8 games it occurred to me to try to spreadsheet something really rough out. What I came up with is "wins of the Big Ten teams you've beaten" and this is what it looks like:
Team Wins Wins of teams you beat Neb 8 23 Wis 7 24 OSU 7 20 Pur 6 15 Minn 5 17 PSU 4 9 Ill 4 9 Mich 4 8 Mary 3 9 Ind 3 5 NW 2 6 MSU 1 3 Iowa 1 3 Rut 1 1
I'm sure that putting in there "losses of teams you'd lost to" would be another interesting factoid. Obviously, this is nothing like a power ranking and there needs to be a recursive aspect or something like that if you want to get anything approaching true insight from these numbers, but I thought it was an intriguing snapshot.

Or someone better at data presentation than I.

We are real lucky to have an Ace in the Hole available for end of sets should we run out of sub's role in Demps as priorly R. Earle has illustrated that role. But she could start for many other programs and we'll see if her low utilization this year would precipitate a subsequent move.

No idea how good McCaa is if they keep Robinson at Opp. But for sure, Demps and Wrobel both would be respectable Opposites if they moved Robinson (or Smrek) to the middle. But assuming that Gregorski leaves, you're going to need some depth at pin. Finding people who want to fight established starters for playing time is another story. I wonder if they can do something like with Grace Balensiefer at Purdue this year, bring in a grad student who started at a lower-tier school and proved all they can, and want to get into a top gym and a top grad school and see what they can do.

Yeh, its a balancing act. Someone good enough to maintain highlevel play should go down but if they too highly touted and don't see the floor enough..... I think in the past we used to have a few more non-scholarship players from the Badger state. Having a role player's dream school growing up being Wisconsin reduces likelihood of a transfer out.

No shade to her, but I'd be surprised to see McCaa get significant floor time
