I continue to feel pretty good about the badgers go-forward prospects. Passing has improved. They are getting hitting from multiple sources. With smrek back, the block is consistent and formidable. Really need the setting to take the next step forward now. Even with good passing, there are still too many timing and placement issues for both setters. They really don't have a lot of experience yet, so optimism that they will continue to improve certainly still seems warranted. I have to assume it was coaching direction to push the backrow attacks. Perfected passes set to the backrow for way too many tips, at the expense of any middle attack, was tough today. They have quite a few games running the 6-2 now. They have shown signs of improvement but Izzy to me had tendencies where the opponent can read her too easily and Hammill with still too many what the heck sets. Also of the two, I see Hammill struggle with placement more frequently resulting more tip attacks.

McCutcheon is done. Any future recruits we would like to steal from the Gophers?

It is the hottest thread on VT now.

(Posting this and then going to check news...)
I don't know if this will become another regular post-match 'report', but back-row attacking today:
Franklin four kills, four errors Orzol three kills, zero errors

The backrow attacks seem to be pretty good at the beginning of matches, then go off the rails later on with a few misconnects. We need to be less susceptible to such breakdowns.

McCutcheon is done. Any future recruits we would like to steal from the Gophers? I just saw this. It was a matter of time IMO.

McCutcheon is done. Any future recruits we would like to steal from the Gophers? I'm most interested in what McKenna Wucherer decides. Brookfield, WI native who only went to Minnie b/c of Hugh. She'd be a steal of the transfer pool. This is a very unfortunate loss for the B1G and have to feel for the Gophers players. Given Hugh's contract extension he just signed last year (thru 2025), it seems plausible a sudden health/family issue came up. Hoping in the end this turns out well for Hugh and his players.

Well hopefully no one is doing anything illegal. But I bet in December calls will be made to club coaches. I think it's icky. Let the kids decide on their own.
It's not a good look for Badger fans being turkey vultures either.
I would think there's a good chance Houk could be head coach, which would provide a great deal of continuity. He was a head coach for 5-6 years at SD.

\We have basically two sophomores on the pin, as well as a freshman and a Junior at OH. I'd love a big time sconnie recruit, but I bet the unwillingness to pull the trigger in 8th grade may have poisoned her view of the badgers. At least that is the impression we got at the time on this board.
Could be Houk gets this job, but I'm interested to see if a women gets it.

Figured he’d move on to bigger and better things at some point? It seems like Minnesota is in the best position to be come the next first time national champion. I wouldn’t be surprised about him moving on to what’s next at some point, but surprised by the timing because of that.

I feel over a decade is a long time to spend as an NCAA coach for someone with his international profile. Also, I've gotten vibes. A bit surprised at the timing. His team has seemed slightly off, and I wonder if they knew.
