Simma' down now! We just won a championship, so there's no need for the bickering! God forbid we become like OSU & Michigan football fans!

I remember at some point Sheff said they switched her over to the float serve to limit her jumps because of the leg/ankle injury she had over the summer and early in the season. Exactly, and I don't think she was able to jump quite like she did in those early handful of games where she was absolutely dominating. Hitting the freshman wall was inevitable during B1G season, so that factored into things as well, but I'm sure she'll have a nice rebound next year.

I also was worried about Orzol's health/stamina this season. She always seemed pretty spry though. Mentally it may have been very tough.

If you can point to one moment when the attitude around the program definitively, right through the fan base, changed direction - it was that moment. The moment that stalled it out (EDIT: plateaued) until last Saturday was LC getting hurt in the regional finals in Louisville.

Yes! She’s not my favorite to watch for Wisconsin as I don’t prefer her game but I can’t deny that she can definitely ball. Especially when things got tight in both final four matches, she found ways to contribute. I hope to see her bring back that nasty serve she used to have and perfect it. I’m pretty confident she will go back to the topspin serve next season. I remember at some point Sheff said they switched her over to the float serve to limit her jumps because of the leg/ankle injury she had over the summer and early in the season. I think after the off-season she’ll be back to 100% Oh! I didn’t know she sustained an injury early on. Thank you for pointing that out

The thing with the Olympic sports...the johnnycomelately don't stick it out if the next year is down. But they will hang onto the revenue sports forever. With the exception of men's hockey, apparently.

It's a good wagon but sometimes you have to hold onto the sides!
2022 might need a couple of handles, but I still expect a strong season (if we can pass).

Even with everything we lose after 2021 (thank you, seniors!), I'm upbeat about the outlook for next season.
You're pretty set at middle/RS with the combination of Hart (assuming full recovery), Smrek and Robinson. Maybe a little thin, depth-wise, but all 3 are All-American caliber potential.
I've liked what I've seen from Hammill in the limited action she's been given. Moves well, smooth hands, seems strong at the net. Hilley will be missed, but the cupboard is clearly not bare.
Pins will be interesting. Orzol was up and down this year, but I have a great amount of confidence her best play is still in front of her. Excited to get to see more from Jardine as well, she reminds me a lot of Megan Courtney on the offensive side of things... quick mover, jumps well, fast arm. Wrobel also looks like she could come in and contend from day one. Plus, you have Demps in the mix depending on what they do with that right side sub pattern.
Biggest concern is losing Civita and Barnes. Gotta get at least one L/DS who's ready to go on day one. With the transfer possibility, that's clearly got to be the priority. I think I read somewhere they have two scholarships open... would love to see one go to a libero transfer, one to a middle/RS and then maybe a couple walk-on DS's.
Secondary concern would be leadership - who's going to step up when things get tough and pull the team together. We lose a lot of that in the graduating class. The coaching staff is elite, so I have confidence they will pull it out of the right pieces to make it work.
I think they will be in the top 8-12 most of the year and have a great shot at another regional final... and if they get some breaks, maybe further than that.

I just wanted to say that I'm always impressed when a poster puts in the effort to get the ł in Orzoł's name.

I think they will be in the top 8-12 most of the year and have a great shot at another regional final... and if they get some breaks, maybe further than that. Two bits to throw in on that: - Hart was moving really well at the last couple matches in Nov, but then was limping noticeably during the NCAA matches at the Field House. Last night, I happened to see her quite 'up close' outside the Field House after the 'welcome home', and she was moving around much better, but still not as well as back in Nov. So, fingers still crossed. - Leadership: I don't remember which match it was - somewhere mid-season this year - but during a time-out, I looked over at the Badger bench 'huddle' while the coaches were off to the side, talking with one another, and it was MJ Hamell who was at the center of the huddle, talking at length and quite seriously while all the others listened attentively, nodding along to what MJ was saying to them. It was striking, and has stuck with me how the 'freshman' non-started "had" the huddle.
