Also, on Orzoł - she has huge upside. The girl basically hasn’t had a break in more than a year. She went from her Polish club/HS thing to the Polish national team for U20s, to Madison and the NCAA season. Her body probably needs a good solid break.
Let her have a rest and then have a solid off-season to work with Kevin and hone her skills in 1:1s. She’s gonna be so great.

I’m not sure she ever 100% recovered from whatever sort of leg injury she had early in the season. Off season rest should be huge to get her jumping again like she did in the scrimmage and first handful of games where she was incredibly productive.

Do we think Reed and Hammill are redshirt sophomores?

Ashburn knew that coming in. At minimum I think she'd get the same role she has now. Six rotations for Orzol and Demps? Or Wrobel steps into Loberg's spot, and otherwise the lefts and rights all keep their same roles.

Any chance Dildine moves on to a HC position? I am sure a raise is coming to Sheffield and his assistants. Really don't want to see Dildine leave I don't understand your thought. They receive built-in bonuses for steps through the tournament, and a biggest one for the national championship. But why would more money make Dildine leave? This very moment seems like the biggest recruiting opportunity she will get in a very long time. Seems like she would want to prove her stuff and max-out the potential recruiting moment with Wisconsin.

Maybe Demps would be ok with the same role, given how effective and often she's used back there.

I think it's good that there will be some competition for the OH position. For the past several seasons, I feel like the Badgers didn't really have depth on the pins. It was pretty much the starting lineup, and that was it. Next season they have Orzol, Demps, Wrobel, Jardine, and maybe even a healthy Gregorski (who is probably too undersized, but hey, Kelli Bates was also only 5'11").

She’s not my favorite to watch for Wisconsin as I don’t prefer her game but I can’t deny that she can definitely ball. Especially when things got tight in both final four matches, she found ways to contribute. I hope to see her bring back that nasty serve she used to have and perfect it.

Wrobel will be starting from the first day at OH, would really like to see Robinson back on the right with smrek in teh middle as well. Robinson was wasted at MB and when the two were together, Smrek played middle. Boyer in at Lib, definitely not Orzol - she is no Bates.

It was after that she started wearing tights. Who knows what level of kt tape she was wearing under that. I agree, a two month rest might just be the ticket.

I’m pretty confident she will go back to the topspin serve next season. I remember at some point Sheff said they switched her over to the float serve to limit her jumps because of the leg/ankle injury she had over the summer and early in the season. I think after the off-season she’ll be back to 100%

It absolutely is the point. If she was a passers or defender worthy of playing, they would have figured that out. Was she a better option than Civita or Barnes this year? Obviously not. Might she improve enough to be an option along with Boyer and Anna Mac next year? Maybe. We'll see. But she will be part of a team and lineup, where different aspects and options will be considered.the perfect example was the mid to late season "experiment" of replacing Boyer with Demps as the back row sub of Smrek. I have no doubt at all that Boyer is a better option from a defensive point of view. But the back row offense that Demps provided easily outweighed the defensive difference. Yok can't change or think about a player/position without considering how it changes the lineup as a whole. Volleyball is VERY integrated; everything affects everything. While I am fantastic at condescending in posts, I think you've outdone yourself on this one.

Do we think Reed and Hammill are redshirt sophomores? Im not sure about Reed but Hammill will most likely be listed as a junior on the roster but will have 3 years of eligibility just like Robinson

While I am fantastic at condescending in posts, I think you've outdone yourself on this one. As have you.😁 That's what I admitted in the first part of that statement. While many posters know vb, not nearly as many have played at a high level, or coached the same. While I may not remember or care to look up the year Frantti hobbled Carlini, i know vb is complex having played pretty competitive levels of the game. At the very least, I'm direct about my questioning posts and don't veil it in faux education. That said, I look forward to revisiting this post in the fall.
